Monday's Weekend Recap...

The start of another week is here.  I did have a busy weekend but it was all good!  Some of you may have seen this photo on Facebook but here it is ...

I drove down to Punta Gorda to have lunch with my granddaughter, Lauren.  I am so blessed that we have this half-way place to meet every few months and stay connected.  It is only a couple of hours together but so worth it and the bigger blessing is that she wants to spend time with me.  She paid for our lunch and said it was her turn to spoil me a bit.  I love her to the moon and back a thousand times!

She was excited to show me this picture of her new cat, William.  He was a feral rescue and had some health problems that have been overcome and she dotes on him (like we all dote on our fur-babies).  She lost her cat, Catherine, a few months ago and it was traumatic for her so William is a blessing!!  He is SO handsome.

Yesterday (Sunday), I was able to attend a retirement party for my former neighbor and always my friend, Ginny.  It was at their house and was just family plus me and also the woman who bought our house, next door. She wanted to take me next door and show me the changes she and her husband made to the inside of the house.  Her husband died a year ago but she is doing okay and loves the house Joe and I lived in for 28 years.  The changes they made, updating the kitchen and opening up a wall in the living room are nice.  It was fun to see what they did and to know she is doing fine and loves the house.  It was nice to catch up with Ginny and Bob (who retired in December) and the family members who were also there.  It was a pool party and after lunch, everyone headed for the pool - so I headed home (LOL).

I got my laundry done and didn't need any dinner after Italian sausage, sweet pepper salad and half a chicken breast at the retirement party.  I finally broke through on my diet and have lost 14 pounds doing low-carb.  It is working again!!

Thanks for checking in!  Wishing you a blessed week ahead!!
Peace & Hugs!
It is well, it is well with my soul!

  2. Woohoo on the diet. I found I had those hard spots to get by when I was dieting as well. I also reached my goal weight and would creep back up if I wasn't careful. I have a weight where I know I feel better so I try to stay there. I am so glad you got to see your granddaughter. Yes, it is great that they want to visit once they are older and her cat is gorgeous.

  3. That's wonderful to get to see family and friends. And well done with the weight loss. You look great and probably don't need to lose any more. Enjoy your week!

  4. Wow! Good for you for losing 14 pounds. I keep trying, I've lost about 20 pounds just watching what I eat, but have been at a standstill lately. I need to buckle down.
I love hearing about your time with Lauren. Such a blessing! Her William is very handsome.
So nice that you were able to go to Ginny's retirement party too and to see your old home. It's a blessing to know the current owner loves it and is happy.

  9. So proud of you in your weight journey! You are doing great!!! Even with all the eating out you do you are maintaining quite well! That's amazing! Oh, William is a very handsome cat! How wonderful he has such a loving home! So glad you were able to spend time with Lauren. That is wonderful. And also how nice to go to the retirement party and then to have a tour of your "old house". Sounds like it is very nice. I'm sure it was kind of bittersweet to go through it again, but very nice of the new owner to welcome you! Anyway, glad you had such a nice weekend. You are blessed!!!
