Friday Foto Friends...

Here we are at the end of another week seemingly moving through this year at lightning speed.  I do have some new pictures to share today!!

Thursday morning, my co-worker Norman took me out on the property to show me the bridge he had been building over the past couple of weeks.  It is on one of the hiking trails and he is very proud of it (and rightly so!).

You can't really tell, but this is the gorge the bridge goes across.
I understand that it fills up during our rainy season.

A look at another part of the hiking trail.
We have over 20 miles of primitive hiking trails at Tenoroc.

A look through the trees at our beautiful blue sky.

The sign says NO HORSES ALLOWED.
We have nearly 30 miles of horse trails but they aren't
always part of the hiking trails.

Two more photos with views of a couple of our lakes.

Last night was our Mas Verde Supper Group dinner.  The group is much diminished now that most of the snowbirds have gone north for the summer.  We went to Reececliff Diner which has been a staple in Lakeland since 1934.  They are known especially for their pies.  I did not have pie.  Just a salad, some fruit, and Swiss steak (glorified hamburger).  Clockwise from me is Sharon & Larry, then Tim & Judy, and Sharon is across from me.  Bob is still not well enough to be out and about so she took a meal home to him.

I have a busy weekend ahead and it's all good.  I have been invited to my former neighbor's retirement party.  Bob & Ginny lived next door to us in our old house.  We visited back and forth all the time and cared for each other's cats when we were traveling.  We lived there 28 years and they were our neighbors for 24 of those years.  Anyway, I am honored that they invited me to join in on Sunday for this family celebration of Ginny's retirement.  I will go after church and am taking a pasta salad.

Tomorrow I am driving down to Punta Gorda to have lunch with my granddaughter Lauren!  Looking forward to seeing her again and am thankful that we have this halfway place to meet that works for us to get to spend time together every couple/three months.  I will have pictures!

Peace & Hugs!

So, I can face tomorrow,
For tomorrow’s in Your hands
All I need you will provide,
Just like you always have

  2. Sounds like you have a full and wonderful weekend ahead...and you've already had quite a nice week. I love the pictures of the trails, lakes, "bridge", etc. where you work. You are blessed to work in such a lovely environment. I think I could enjoy that as well. I'd have a difficult time staying at my desk, however, with all that beauty out there to enjoy! I'm glad you get those little breaks now and then to get out of the office and see what everyone else is coming there to enjoy! I love that your Mas Verde group continues to gather event though it is smaller now. You live in a great community! God knew what He was doing when He directed you and Joe there. But it is also nice you are still friends with your former neighbors and that you will have a happy time together on Sunday afternoon. "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold". I remember learning that little song in Girl Scouts ever so many years ago!! Enjoy your weekend.

  4. Wow, your co-workers are sure a talented bunch! I'm sure they're flattered by your interest. Grinning at your swiss 'steak.' Before I grew up and moved to Texas, that was the only kind of 'steak' I'd order. Have fun this weekend, and drive safe!

  5. You have an amazing weekend ahead, Terri. I'm looking forward to seeing all your photos. The photos you shared here today are wonderful, as is that bridge your co-worker constructed. Such talent!

  6. The trails are so pretty! Glad you had fun with your group, even though the numbers are diminished.
    Have fun with Lauren!

  7. It's a little strange when the snowbirds (or "winter visitors"), depart, isn't it? We have several on our street, too, who have already left and more to go in the near future. Reminds me of when Beloved and I were newlyweds while he was in college. We stayed in town year 'round, so in the summer when most of the students left for home, things got pretty quiet!
