Friday Fotos...

I don't have any new photos to share this week that I took.  I do have a story and a photo from my neighbor though.

The opossum was just laying in my carport early a few days ago and Bill (across the street neighbor) watched it go under my house.  They are usually nocturnal so it was unusual for one to be out in the daytime.  I didn't give it another thought until Wednesday...

My house had a smell and it was stronger outside.  The animal had obviously died under my house.  The smell is unmistakable (city folk may not be familiar but country folk are).  It was a little better yesterday and I am hoping it will be even better when I get home from work today.  I can't crawl under the house to explore but I did make a phone call to find someone who would do it.  No return on the phone call yet and I will probably just let it go now.

Sorry if this is TMI.  That's been my last couple of days, though.  Lots of my neighbors have mesh installed around the crawl space and I need to think about getting it done here. It's not cheap ($1,500-$2,000) but will keep out animals.  It's always something!!

I am going to Mayfaire tomorrow and am looking forward to that!!

Peace & Hugs!

Jesus is all the world to me...

  2. Aww, the poor possum must have been sick...that would explain why he was laying in your carport in the daytime. Yikes...I hope someone can come get it out of there...that doesn't sound very pleasant. I hope you have good weather for Mayfaire, and that you have a wonderful time. Happy Friday.

  5. I hope you don't have to put that expensive mesh around your house. Is this the first time that it has happened? What is Mayfaire? Have fun.

    1. Sandie, Mayfaire is an art festival in Lakeland. I have never had a dead animal under the house but there have been animals in and out off and on.

  6. Poor baby! I think something like that happened a few weeks ago under Tom's workshop. He's lost his sense of smell, but it was pretty unpleasant for about a week. Even the girls kept their 'potty time' to a minimum.

  7. When you own a home, there is always something that needs tending, isn't there? So sorry about the possum smell, Terri. Hoping it will go away on its own.
    Blessings!

  8. We had the same issue when I was in Florida and we had to spring for it.. plus one never knows what else the critters may decide to chew on if available.
