Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 457
2. April 2nd was National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Did you celebrate? Who knew? Nope. Do you like PB and J? Yes, I do. If so how do you like yours? A good layer of peanut butter and a nice coating of jelly on top of that. What's your favorite kind of jelly? For a PB&J, grape jelly. My BFF Elaine makes strawberry jam from their garden strawberries and she brought me a jar when they were here in February. It is DELICIOUS!
3. What's a memory you associate with spring flowers? My grandpa always had Easter corsages for "his girls" and we felt so special wearing fresh flowers to church, pinned to our new Easter dresses. Those were the days.
4. Three things on your spring bucket list? Do you have a spring bucket list? If not pretend you do. I don't have a list but if I did it would include major spring cleaning: Curtains laundered; windows washed; cupboards cleaned out.
5. One place you will travel to this spring? To work; to the grocery; to see Helen; no vacations - at least while gasoline is so expensive and I only have weekends to travel. (It might be Europe or it might be the grocery store)
6. Insert your own random thought here. Speaking of Helen, I will stop and see her after work today. Hospice called to tell me she fell Monday evening. They saw her walker out in the hallway without her and ran to her room where they found her on the floor. No idea what happened, but she doesn't appear to have any injuries from the fall. So hard and so sad.

Poor Helen...so sorry Terri. Keeping in prayer.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you will be able to visit with Helen today, Terri. It's so difficult to watch someone's health failing, knowing they probably won't be with us for too much longer.
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note, I love that your grandfather made fresh Easter corsages for all of you when you were young. What a great memory that is!
Blessings!
I'm sorry to hear of Helen's latest troubles! How your heart must sink when you recognize that incoming number on your phone.
ReplyDeleteYour #3 makes my heart smile -- on account my dad used to do the same thing for my mother and me. After he passed, Ron would do the same in his honor.
Poor Helen. I'm so sorry to hear that. Major spring cleaning...I need to do that too.

ReplyDeleteI love lilacs, Cheryl, and really miss them here in Florida. We had a tree in our backyard when I was growing up in Ohio. Best smell ever!!
DeleteI'm sorry that Helen continues to decline. It's so hard.
ReplyDeleteI would like to have some of that Spring cleaning done too, but I don't want to do it!
Yes, gone are the days when we wore corsages for Easter and Mother's Day. What a different time that was.
