Friends, I only have one photo to share today because Joe and I were involved in yet another incident that has nearly incapacitated him. I told him that this is #3 and that's enough. First, it was the cat bite, then the wart removal gone wrong. This time, he had a tooth pulled on Wednesday and it just would not stop bleeding.
We ended up in the ER for five hours Wednesday to Thursday (9:00 pm to 2:00 am), then back again when what they did for him the first time quit working and the bleeding started again. I won't go into gory details, but suffice it to say that it was extremely gory.
After two trips to the ER, one back to the dentist and another to an oral surgeon, he has finally stopped bleeding and was able to eat some soup and pudding. What a mess it's been and poor Joe has had a horrid two days. So glad it is over (hopefully - fingers crossed and prayers offered!).
It seemed silly to go to the ER for a bad tooth pulling, but his blood pressure was sky high, he couldn't eat or drink (not good for diabetics) and the blood just wouldn't stop. The ER staff were amazing both visits and the oral surgeon got it done for us...24 hours after the tooth was pulled. It took four stitches to finish it. The dentist who pulled the tooth will never see either of us again. I can guarantee that!!
Neither of us got any sleep, so when we got home from the surgeon, we both napped for an hour or so. I still needed to get to Publix for groceries. The kids are coming today!!! I also have a list for Sam's Club, but we can take the 'kids' with us for that run. Joe is doing much better and the pain meds are helping.
So...this is why I haven't visited your blogs yet from yesterday, but I will get to them all. Oh...our new furniture comes today too! It should be a fun weekend with Joey and Darlene helping break-in our new furniture.

Oh, my mercy, I'm so sorry... what an ordeal! And, I don't blame you at all about not returning to that dentist... he should have stitched it to begin with. Hope he continues to heal and Y'all have a great weekend with your kids. 💜

Oh my! So sorry poor Joe is suffering so! but thankful you were available and ready to help him get the help he needed! (Retirement often has these kinds of ups and downs...and we realize how much we are needed at home!) Thankful your kids will be there this weekend to help you all settle back down and get back to normal. Praying all goes well and that Joe will soon be back up and running and ready to go! Take care, my friend. Don't worry about us. We'll be here when you are able to get around to us. Just take care of yourself and your precious hubby and enjoy your family. !!

ReplyDeletePoor Joe! Years ago my granddaughter experienced a gum bleed that wouldn't stop. The on-call nurse advised her parents to lay a cold, wet teabag on the tooth. Nevertheless - given Joe's high BP I'm glad you didn't hesitate taking him to the E.R.! You're right, 3 times and bad luck (better) be gone!

Terri, I am so sorry to hear that about Joe. Shamefully I have been so caught up in my situation, I havent been reading many blogs. Please know I will be praying for him to continue to heal and for you his caretaker! Enjoy family for sure.
