Friday Foto Friends Link-up.....

Happy Friday! I am linking up with Debbie at Breathing In Grace for her Friday Foto Friends.....

My week has been great!  We haven't really done much of anything, but it has been great!

Rain. It has rained every day.

My Happy Retirement balloons are still floating!
I tied them to the railing at our front door.

We are having our shutters painted black.  They were a very faded
gray.  With the rain all week, our handy-man keeps
saying he will be by tomorrow....
This also shows you the front raised bed that we want to get
black pots for....

He did get the ones under the carport installed. They look
so much better!

I bought stuff to make a new wreath for the front door.
Here it is....

This cartoon was in our paper this week. Had to share it! Truth.

While cleaning junk out of my work computer, I ran across this
picture of Joe and me from the 2010 Gala, at the Museum.
I'm going to miss getting gussied up for the Gala. We can't
afford $800 a couple!!

Yesterday, we went looking at furniture and mattresses. We visited Claussen's, Hudson's, and Haverty's.  We found the mattress we want at Haverty's and maybe some of the living room pieces we want.  We aren't going to rush into purchasing, but I am getting excited. One nice thing about Haverty's is that they will send a decorator to your house, free!!, to help you decide on what you need and placement. I may take them up on it....

Today, Joe has an audiology appointment at the local VA Clinic.  His hearing has gotten worse so he wants to see if he needs a new hearing aid.  That is at 8:00 a.m.  When he gets home from that, we are going on a little road trip up to Zephyrhills for our first visit to Ollie's!!  Several of you have mentioned shopping at Ollie's so I looked them up. There is a store in Orlando and one in Zephyrhills.  Zephyrhills is much closer and I have never been to Zephyrhills before.  I'll let you know what we find!!

Tonight we are having dinner with two of my former co-workers, Gregory and Matt.  They both came to our rescue a couple of months ago when our refrigerator needed to be moved.  Told them then that we would take them out to dinner.  It's terrible that we are just getting around to it, but we are looking forward to it!

No plans for the weekend yet.  Whatever we do, I will recap it on Monday!  Wishing you a good Friday and weekend ahead!!  Love & hugs!

  2. Sounds like a great first week of retirement! You are getting a LOT accomplished already!! Slow down and enjoy...but I know the feeling of wanting to get things done! I am the same way...sometimes. Lately I've been a bit lazy. Too hot and wet to get out and do much. But fall and cooler weather is coming...sometime...maybe October? LOL. Enjoy your day at Zephyrhills! Sounds like fun!!! Looking forward to hearing about it!!

  4. The house is looking good and love that wreath you made!
I hope all goes well at Joe's appointment. My husband needs to have his hearing checked (we all know he's got hearing loss) but he refuses to go. Maybe I'll be the one who goes after my night out with friends this week...all the restaurant noise and then the live music had all of saying "What??" all night.

  8. Meeting you for the first time today on Friday Fotos. We have bought our last several mattresses at Haverty's and have been pleased. Their warranty is excellent as well. I hope you will be pleased. And how fun to have a decorator to help you make all those fun decisions.

  10. Goodness, how those black shutters 'pop'!
The wreath is so lovely. I don't know anything about making one, but think something like this would be a welcoming touch for when our homes goes on the market.

  13. You and your husband look so nice all dressed up! I hope you will still find some events to get all glammed up for. Those that don't cost $800 a couple. Hearing about your daily rainfall makes me wish we had some of it right now. Wishing you a wonderful weekend whatever your plans end up being.

  14. We've been having rain every day too. At least it cools things off a bit. Your wreath is so pretty! And I love those black shutters against the white house. You have made the most of your first week of retirement. Does it just feel as if you are on vacation? It did for me at first. But then you get used to it and it's wonderful. Except you are busier than you ever were before.
