1. Do your actions match your words? I sure hope so! Elaborate. I would hate to think I am a hypocrite. I try always to say what I mean and mean what I say. My integrity is important to me.
2. Sick as a dog, go to the dogs, dog days of summer, dog tired, it's a dog's life, every dog has its day, can't teach an old dog new tricks...now doggone it which saying could most recently be applied to your life? Oh, dog days of summer for sure! I'm retired and ready to play but it is too darn hot out there!!
3. Your favorite book featuring a dog in the storyline? What makes it a favorite? I do my best to stay away from books and movies that kill off animals. I tend to bawl like a baby. The one book I read and actually enjoyed (but still cried) was Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog, by John Grogan. I won't call it a favorite, but I did finish it. I don't do animal stories well.

4. What's something you hope to one day have the confidence to do? I've been there and done most everything I ever wanted to do. I've never been an adventurer or risk taker. I have always had the confidence to say no when necessary.
5. August 16th is National Tell a Joke Day. So tell us a joke.
6. Insert your own random thought here. We took my car to the Kia dealership yesterday because the airbag light wasn't going out like it should and our mechanic didn't want to mess with anything to do with the airbags. Found out the sensor in the passenger seat cushion isn't working. Just under $1,500 to fix it. My car is 11 years old. We are talking about trading it. Even the guy at Kia said he wouldn't fix it if it was his car and we will be trading soon. Done deal. Cost us $45 to have them look at it, but they did wash it and vacuum it out. We also had time to look at the new Kias. Maybe in a couple more months.....

My car is ten years old and it is a Toyota Sienna. A Nana Car. Now that the kids are older and do not require car seats we will probably get something smaller. I have gotten so used to sitting UP High I am not sure I could go back to a sedan. We are thinking of a Rav 4. I told Marvin I will drive the Sienna into the ground as I love my van. Hoping it holds up a while longer as well.

ReplyDeleteWe've been dealling with an expensive car repair today too-ugh! I hate that sort of thing, but I guess everyone does. Hubs car isn't that old, so I guess we'll repair.

ReplyDeleteYes, I am so ready for summer to be over. I really want to enjoy being outdoors again...and for the mosquitoes to go away too! Love your answers. I don't read many animal type stories either. Old Yeller made me cry, so I avoid movies like that too. Although I watched "The Yearling" not too long ago because it was filmed right here in Salt Springs area where I live, and also because Gregory Peck was in it. (love him). It was sad but I mainly wanted to see it for the historical value...not the hysterical crying it caused...LOL. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteI'm curious to know if you'd choose Kia again? My Camry now has over 215k miles, so we're looking to replace her sometime next year. I love Toyota, but they're so expensive!
I love Pork Chop! Getting a new car sounds good. I have tried to convince DH we need to trade in without success. I haven't read any books about dogs for the same reason although Joyce today raved about where the Red Fern Grows. I purchased it on my Kindle, and now wondering if I'll have the guts to read it. I enjoyed your answers, especially number 1.
ReplyDeleteCute joke! And I'm the same way about animal stories. If it's going to end badly, I want no part in it! I've been driving an old car with bad sensors for ages. I keep asking Mr. C. about the 'service engine soon' light that comes on, but he just says, 'It's a bad sensor.' I kinda wonder what will happen when the light is serious and means it. Oh well. Everything is so computerized these days. If it gets me there without a flat tire, I'm happy. But it would be fun to be looking at a new Kia! I'll enjoy hearing about that when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI just read your Friday post and am so glad that Joe is on the road to recovery. It is amazing to see how such an innocuous thing as a tooth pull can cause such extensive medical repercussions. Prayers for his continued recovery. SWMBO and I also have a KIA. We drive a 2007 Sportage and like it a lot. We are also near the point where we have to seriously think about a replacement. All the best to Joe and You for the rest of the week. Enjoy the new furniture.
