We had a very uneventful weekend, with one exception. If we are connected on Facebook, you may already know about my embarrassment on Saturday evening. Here is my Facebook post.....
I need to give a shout-out and huge THANK YOU to our wonderful neighbor,Ginny Hogan Bless!! Pouring rain at Publix Lake Miriam, after church...Joe and I jumped and ran (as best we could) into the store after sitting in the parking lot for awhile, hoping the rain would slow down or stop. Checking out, I reached for my keys....
Now, I've been driving for nearly 50 years. I have NEVER locked my keys in the car. Never. Fortunately, I had my phone and called Ginny, who has access to our house for cat-sitting duties. She went in, got our spare keys and drove them to us. Now that is a real friend. Love you, Ginny!! Thanks so much. We are blessed with the best neighbors ever.
Joe and I went to the 4:00 Vigil Mass, then to Rib Crib for some dinner, before going to Publix for a few groceries. It's our usual routine for Saturday evenings. It started pouring rain as we were leaving the restaurant. We hurried to the car and drove to Publix where we parked and sat in the car for awhile, hoping the rain would stop. When I took off my seatbelt, the dinging started because we left the car on for the AC (hot & humid outside), so I turned off the motor and took the keys out of the ignition. When there was a break in the rain, we took off for the store. I grabbed my big umbrella, locked the car and away we went. Got our shopping done and as we were walking away from the check-out, I realized I didn't have my keys. Oh my gosh, did I feel silly! Joe just very calmly said, give Ginny a call and see if she can bring us the spare. Bless her heart, she did. And bless him for not being angry!
So that was the only excitement. We were so lazy Saturday morning, finally getting out of our PJs in time for church. Sunday was also lazy, though I did get some bills paid, some bookkeeping done, and the laundry (of course). I put a beef roast in the crockpot, with potatoes and onions. Made green beans to go with them. It turned out good if I do say so myself.
Back to work today.....
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.

WHOA...noticed your big and beautiful Trump sticker (I made one, its on the bottom of my blog)- {smiles}--welcome aboard, Terri, giggling and being silly. I think the heat is affecting my sense of humor, or lack of, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for good friends...lucky here, the stores are like a 7th of a mile from the house, so if anything should happen, its a easy walk. smiles
Have a beautiful day friend.
Isn't it wonderful to have good neighbors?
ReplyDeleteI've done that...locked my keys in the car. I was so angry with myself, had to call Mr D to come save the day! Wish we could get some rain here, my yard sure needs it. Have a great week.
ReplyDeletePraise God for wonderful neighbors! Ours are great, too. Things happen. Better locked keys than an accident.
ReplyDeleteDon't you LOVE an uneventful weekend? Those are a definite gift in the midst of our busy-ness.
I am so weird about checking about a half dozen times for my keys before I shut a door. Its a fear of mine to lock them in. Even though Ricky has done it quite a few times in our life :) haha
ReplyDeleteBeen there, and done that very thing, and feel so silly and frustrated with myself. I can call Murphy to get our spare and rescue us. Great to have good neighbors like you do. Hope your Monday goes well.
ReplyDeleteI saw your Facebook post.....Glad you have a great neighbor. It's about time you had a lazy weekend. ...we're preparing to have our grands for most of the week....gonna be fun and tiring.
ReplyDeleteOh Terri, welcome to the club of locking your keys in the car! I did that so often when I was young, the janitor of our building was always ready with a coat hanger in those days. And huge embarrassment, my husband and I did that the first morning of our honeymoon. The worst was when I locked the keys in the car with my dog inside and the car running.. Aaaauuuugggghhhhh! So don't feel too bad and I'm glad you have a good neighbor.
ReplyDeleteA quiet Sunday is always a blessing. We had one too.
Glad to hear it was "just" the keys ... not you or Joe slipping and falling in the rain! (Been there, done that.)
ReplyDeletePS - Love your Trump button!
I read that on FB and laughed. Sounds like something I might do. You have a wonderful neighbor!
ReplyDeleteI think the only time I accidentally locked my keys in the car was when Destiny was a baby and she was IN THE CAR!!! On a hot summer evening. I could not get hold of Dick (he was playing basketball) so I had to call 911. It felt like FOREVER till a policeman came and broke the car window. I was about ready to do it myself, but I was so afraid glass would hit her. It was an absolutely horrendous experience, and ever since then I cannot get out of my car without my keys in hand.
