Friday Foto Friends.....

Hello and happy Friday!!  Linking up with Debbie, over at Breathing in Grace, for Friday Foto Friends!

I haven't really had a chance to get any new photos to share on this Friday Foto Friends day, but when I pulled into the driveway last night, this is what I saw in our yard!  The Ibis were having a feast on bugs after the rain.  They were eating their way through the neighborhood.  Please click on the photos to see the birds better!

Here is some information about the White Ibis:  http://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/white-ibis

From that website, I pulled this feeding information:

Feeding Behavior
Forages by walking slowly in shallow water, sweeping bill from side to side and probing on the bottom. Also forages on land, especially on mud or in short grass. Finds food by touch while probing, by sight at other times, seizing items from the surface. White Ibises may steal food from each other and, in turn, have food stolen from them by larger species.

Aside from the Ibis, tonight is a going away party, at the Museum, for our Curator, Adam.  We sure do hate to see him go.  He is the best we have had since I've been at the Museum, and that's saying something because our Curator before Adam was also quite good.  It will be sad to see him go.  He is moving on to a larger museum, up in North Carolina. We sure wish him well. He is young, with a fabulous career ahead of him.

I did have a nice lunch yesterday, with my girlfriends.  Cindee, who just had the brain surgery a couple of months ago, looks fabulous!  Her hair is growing back and she looks healthy! It was great to see her doing so well!!

No other plans for the weekend as of yet. Happy Friday!  Peace & hugs!!

  2. It's so interesting the difference in nature from state to state. Are they very big birds? There's a lot in a flock of them. You're a party animal, my Friend....lol....I mean that in a good way. 😄 Thanks for sharing your pics....hope you have a great weekend!

    1. They are about the size of a goose but with a longer neck, beak and longer legs. They have a wide wing span too.

  9. YAY for Cindee's good news!
Your front lawn looks so healthy and inviting, Terri.
Our own xeriscape rocks don't exactly lend themselves to lounging. LOL.

  10. I have not known a thing about Ibis before this post, and would not have even known this is a bird. Thanks for the education!
