Thriller
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Thriller (1983)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this video, Michael Jackson is transformed into a "werecat," with fangs, claws, yellow eyes and whiskers. What monster or ghoul frightened you the most? When I was a child, I was terrified of Vampires! Loved the movies, but put my cross necklace on to wear to bed to protect me from being bitten! I was sure they were real.
2) Michael sings that evil things that will be lurking "close to midnight." Where will you be at midnight tonight? In bed, sound asleep....even on a Friday night!!
3) Horror movie icon Vincent Price does the voice over on "Thriller." What's your favorite scary movie? I don't actually have a favorite, but I do like the old black and white movies about Frankenstein, vampires and werewolves. Growing up, there was a local TV station (Columbus, Ohio) that ran "Chiller Theater" every Friday night. It was a must for slumber parties.
4) Mr. Price's House of Wax, made in 1953, was one of the first 3D movies. What's the most recent 3D movie you saw? The only 3D movie I've ever seen was Jaws 3D, back in 1983.
5) Horror fans might be surprised to know that, despite his sinister image, Mr. Price enjoyed very genteel and relaxing hobbies, like cooking, gardening and painting. What would we be surprised to learn about you? If you follow my blog, there won't be any surprise anything about me! LOL I did see Mr. Price live, on stage (years and years ago), in a production of Oliver. He played Fagin and was GREAT. He even had a good singing voice.
6) A Halloween tradition is the jack-o-lantern. Did you carve a pumpkin this year? I haven't carved a pumpkin in years and years.
7) According to Yahoo!, the most popular costume of Halloween 2014 was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Will you be in costume this Halloween? Nope! If not, who or what would you most like to dress up as? How about my Peanuts Character selfie....
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

8) When you went trick or treating as a kid, did you usually wear a store-bought costume, or was it DIY? When I was really young, my mom bought costumes for me and my brother - and I hated the hard plastic masks that you couldn't breath in or see out of. Later in life, before I was really too old to go begging, I used my own clothing and make-up.
9) When trick-or-treaters show up at your door, what candy will they get? Nothing. We quit handing out candy 5-6 years ago. The light stays off and if someone rings the bell, we ignore it.

I always liked Vincent Price...didn't know he could sing, too. I loved your Peanuts character so much, I just had to create one myself!! ;) Happy Owl-o-ween!!!
ReplyDeleteI love horror movies and I love Vincent Price. House of Wax was always a fave of mine. When I was growing up a few tv stations ran shows like Chiller Theater. I loved them. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe don't hand candy out anymore either. We do the pretending game too. It has never been our thing. Great meme.
ReplyDeleteI am an 'odd ball' I am sure, but I dont like, nor did I ever like scary movies. I didnt watch them back then, and still dont. Fear is not a feeling I like. We have candy on hand, but have not had anyone for the past 4-5 years. Another 'odd ball' thing about me.....I loved Elvis singing, not to look at him; I loved Michael's singing, not to look at him and his fake face due to surgeries.
ReplyDeleteAnd we too will be in bed sound asleep way before midnight! Enjoy the day my friend.
My parents said last night, that they were not handing out candy this year (flabbergasted). ANYWAYS---as usual, enjoyed your answers. I am not much of a scary movie kinda' of gal lately, but I did like Vincent Price. Blessings
ReplyDeleteYou can hide out when the doorbell rings. I can just imagine the scandal from dogs! I'd have to say that my favourite scary movie would be The Shining or Pet Semetary or Carrie or any other of Stephen King's works. Enjoy your Saturday and enjoy your extra hour's sleep tonight.
ReplyDeleteLove your little selfie. When we were kids, I remember Mom let us stay up one night and watch Teenagers from Outer Space. We hid under the blankets mostly. And a little older, I remember hiding under the blankets while watching Psycho. I'm just not a fan of scary movies.
ReplyDeleteWe will be at church tonight, so won't be handing out candy this year.
Like your Peanuts persona.
ReplyDeleteI used to dress up to hand out candy, but not this year. We had about a dozen of the cutest little trickster come to our door this year. So C U T E! They got 2 fun-sized Almond Joys each. I really enjoy Halloween. The little ones always make me smile.
