Tuesday Tidbits....

I am oftentimes (many times!) inspired by the words of my blogging friends here and those of other acquaintances along the way.  One of my work connections, Emily Rogers, is a life coach and she does a monthly newsletter that always inspires me.  I was so moved by her introduction to this month's newsletter that I decided I had to share it here.  Please read her words and then visit her site HERE, if you want to learn more.

Navigating Nature and Life
On a recent trip to magnificent Lake Tahoe, I relished a day hike along the
lakeshore at D.L. Bliss State Park and made some observations along the
way....

When I hit the trail, I find comfort in having a map so I know where I am, where it is I’m going, and most important, how to get back to where I started. This comfort that the map gives allows me to be present to my surroundings, savor the moment, and worry less. The map also helps me pace myself, giving me the information I need to manage my energy so I have the endurance to complete the trail.

Having a map as a guide for the day doesn’t mean I know exactly what I’m going to experience around every twist and turn on the trail, it doesn’t remove the risk of slipping and falling, and it doesn’t keep me from wandering off-course every now and then.

Much the same can be said about navigating life…

When I was an adolescent, I recall posing a contemplative question to my Mom, “Why aren’t we born with a guide that tells us where we're supposed to go in life?” My Mom, in all of her wisdom, replied with the question, “Wouldn’t that be boring?” Upon reflection, it would be boring and I very likely would have rebelled against a plan that was given to me anyway.

Thirty-something years later, I now know that we are born with a guide, an inner compass if you will. And one of the greatest gifts in life is developing the capacity to connect with that inner compass – aligning it to true north – and observing what you notice. Some call this connecting to your true self or your authentic voice. Extraordinary insight, deep knowing and a clear path forward are available in this space.

When you know for sure that your life is on course and you’re doing exactly what it is you are supposed to be doing - fulfilling your heart’s desire and your life’s purpose - navigating your path in life becomes a magnificent journey.

Let’s grow together…

That is all I have for today and I think it is enough to keep us going this week!  I wish I could write like Emily and so many of you who have such a way with words.  Always inspiring. Thanks for your visit today!!  Peace & hugs!

Just stopping by to say a big Hello to you. Been trying to catch up with my absence here and fell in love with two furbabies. You've been busy I see with company and loved ones.

Oh and reading several posts from the past, I too will NOT touch okra. Ewwww.

  7. Emily is a very good writer and I appreciate what she has to say.
I wish I had that skill too. So often I know what I want to get across, but don't have the right words to do it!
