Tuesday Tidbits....

I really don't have too many tidbits for this Tuesday, but here they are.....

  • I have a Museum event tonight. It is a recognition dinner for our Docents. We have a wonderful group (30) of women (and a few men) who act as our Docents. They lead tours for every 5th grade class in Polk County, during the school year, and they are available for special groups and every Saturday, to answer questions in our galleries. They are devoted and we couldn't be here without them.

  • I don't think I've mentioned yet that I have an appointment this Thursday, late afternoon, with a woman who teaches restorative yoga.  A friend of mine (Fran, who just turned 65, if you remember the pictures from her birthday party a week or so ago) sees this woman and recommended her to me. Along with me trying to lose weight, I know I need to become more flexible and I need to strengthen my core muscles. I'm hoping she can show me what I need to do, and be available to me once a month or so, as I get into it. She works with people who are yoga beginners and who have physical limitations - and that is me. I'll let you know how it goes! (And it is less expensive than my co-pay at the Chiropractor!)
  •  I'm so ready to be done with the renovations at home and to get our house put back together! It makes me tired, actually. I could not live like this, and don't know how some people survive in chaos (thinking of hoarders, especially). I much prefer order, or at least a more organized chaos!

I will leave it at that today. My lunch hour is over and I need to get back to work! Thanks for stopping by!! I look forward to your comments, and wish you a good evening! Peace, love & hugs.

  2. Will look forward to what you think about yoga. I know what you mean about having things at home in order. I am that way too, but Jim isnt! Sigh...I feel like it was back when the kids were small and I seemed to always be picking up or putting back things...if I didnt, you would see us on hoarders as far as Jim is concerned. lol Enjoy the evening.

  3. Hi Terri! How nice that the museum is hosting a recognition dinner for your Docents. I love that I have been to your museum because I can picture them taking a 5th grade class on a tour! The yoga class sounds like it would be very helpful. I can't wait to hear how you like it. I bet it has been hard having your house turned upside down since the renovations have started. On the bright side..it will all be well worth it once it is finished!

  6. Yoga should work well for improving one's overall health. I used to dance, and anything with stretching, etc. will help you feel better. I hope it helps!

I with you on the chaos. I can't stand mess. If one must collect, at least make it an organized chaos. *lol*

Have fun at the supper. ~:)

  7. I've thought about getting back into yoga. I did it a couple years before I had my babies and I loved it. I was in great shape, strong and thin. hahaha I hope you like it and that it helps you. I'm sure it will.
I've watch Hoarders and can't believe how people could live that way. I like my chaos organized, too.

  9. The yoga sounds great. Lots of people benefit from it. One thing someone told us at a Christian retreat is you don't have to say an odd "mantra". You can say a Christian phrase - - like Jesus is Lord. Do what works for you.
I feel for you with the contractor work. When they were here a week and a half, it took me two months to get back on my regular routine. I am probably a bit slower than some but so much was out of order and regular living did not stop. It made me tired, too - - - - physically and emotionally. I was thankful for the work but like you - - - ready for it to be over!

  11. A couple of my friends do pilates, so hope you enjoy your yoga sessions. Don't worry too much about how things are piled up, because everything will soon be back in place. Besides, true hoarders tend to collect a lot of dirty, smelly things like bags of rotten rubbish. Yuck!
