Thanks to Joyce, From This Side of The Pond, for this week's Hodgepodge!!
2. Should sports stars be role models? Unfortunately, most of them today make poor role models. There are a few exceptions, for sure, and kids definitely need a "hero" or two to look up to.
3. January is National Oatmeal month...are you a fan? How do you like your oats? I can eat oatmeal, with brown sugar and cinnamon, but I really don't like it - except in cookies!! :)
4. What is one book on your reading list for 2014? I don't have a book reading list, but I have a huge library on my reader, just waiting for me to finish the Outlander series. I'm on book five of seven, with an eighth one about to be published. I may never finish this series. Each book is between 500-900 pages long, but I am totally immersed in the story and the characters.
5. What would you like your future self to say to your present self? I'm so glad you got those extra pounds off, because I am enjoying my older years, now!!
6. When scrolling through the TV guide, what is one movie title that makes you want to stop, grab the popcorn, and watch for a while? Oh golly...too many. I stopped at Forrest Gump over the weekend, and also on the Titanic, but just watched snippets of both.
7. What are two style trends you hope never come back into fashion? Leisure suits for men, and fishnet hose for women (actually, hose of any kind - hate wearing them!).
8. Insert your own random thought here. I am tired. I want my house back!! The flooring should come in this week and I hope they can schedule us this week. I really want my house back in order! Ugh. The mess is really starting to bother me. This is just the dining room. And we still need to get all the furniture out of the Master bedroom (but not until we really have to!).
Thanks for shopping by my Hodgepodge today! I look forward to your comments. Have a great day, full of peace, love & hugs!

Good morning, Terri! I love your new background! So pretty! I remember you telling me about the Outlander series. I need to download them. It sounded really good! I feel your pain about wanting your house back to normal. Hopefully, it will all be finished soon. Happy Hump Day! Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteI haven't bowled in many years unless you count Wii Bowling.
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal raisin cookies. I like oatmeal too but it has to have something added to it. Plain oatmneal is yucky. lol Have a great day!
Ah, yes there is a price to pay in the sanity department for home improvement : ) Enjoy your new look though!
ReplyDeleteLove your new background here! Very pretty. Loved your answers. Have a good day. Blessings
ReplyDeleteHome improvement has a way of dragging out, doesn't it? Hang in there, it'll be SO worth it when you're done :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the leisure suits and hose too. I've lived through some home renovations and they're no fun, but worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteOh, fishnet stockings. I had to wear them with a costume for a dance recital when I was a kid. I think I had a feather in my hair too.
ReplyDeleteYour new blog background is so pretty. I hope you get the work completed on your house soon.
I hope you get your new flooring in soon and the house back in order! It's so hard to live in disarray! I agree with you on hose although I occasionally like wearing black tights with a skirt. Of course, only when it's too cold to go out in my shorts and flip-flops! ( :
ReplyDeleteGood at gutter balls. haha! That's cute!!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you with the books! I have so many to read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments on my little niece.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed bowling; don't think I could handle it now!
I know you will be thrilled to get this reno work done. Take care and have a restful night.
You're gonna enjoy your home when all is finished and it will have all been worth it.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the new flooring - forgive me as I have been sick!
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal.
ANd I think sports people are role models - they get paid to be ones and should be good!
So there.
Sandie
Another fun post from you! I will eat oatmeal in cookies or my homemade Orange-Walnut-Oatmeal Muffins. Yum! My husband was a good bowler but pays for it with arthritis in his thumb now. I have a classic picture of me in pink fishnet stockings and a "whipped cream" dress. Do you remember that material? I thought I looked so good (high school). Whatever were we thinking?!!!
