Two of these guys are my cousins, who live over in Melbourne, FL
BIG Ohio State fans, and this is them and two friends in the parking lot, at the game, which was down in Miami. They are spelling OHIO, for those of you who might be wondering.
We stayed up LATE for us, watching Ohio State get beat by Clemson last night. The game ended around 12:30 a.m., so (needless to say) we weren't up much before 9:00 a.m. It was an exciting game, even though I felt Clemson played kind of dirty. The Buckeyes made mistakes, though. It is what it is. Now we have the Philadelphia Eagles game on, hoping the Eagles beat New Orleans. We are up by one point at the start of the 3rd quarter.
I say...who cares about sports when Downton Abbey's new season starts tomorrow night!!! I am so excited for some of my favorite shows to be returning in January!!
We were invited to go out to lunch today, with Helen and Cheryl. They wanted to go to Olive Garden, so we met them there at 1:30 and enjoyed their company and some yummy Italian food. We left there, and they went to the movies. Joe and I stopped in Bed Bath & Beyond for cleaner for his shaver (self-cleaning). Then we went to Mass (our usual 4:00 Vigil). After church, we went to Publix for a few things and came on home. Neither of us was hungry enough for dinner after such a big lunch. We've been picking during the game, and that works for me!!
No plans for tomorrow, other than some tidying up and doing laundry. Feels good to have Christmas decorations put away. Joe did have the outside all done when I got home from work yesterday, so it is all done for another year. I left the wreath hangers on the front doors (double doors), and am thinking about making something to hang out there. No holidays in January, so just need to do something pretty. We'll see.
Thanks for stopping by!! I appreciate your friendships and look forward to your comments, and to reading your posts!! Peace, love and hugs!!

Sounds like you had a nice day. We finally got our tree down today. It does feel good to have it put away. Enjoy your Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI guess a snowflake wreath won't work in Florida. Have you seen the wreaths that are mostly down in big pouffy ribbons? You could do something like that . . . . . love Olive Garden-YUM! I have only watched the first two episodes of Downton Abbey. So I am definitely not watching it tomorrow night!
ReplyDeleteEvery time the OSU team plays, I always think of you. Sorry they lost. I too am glad the holidays are behind us and things are stored for another year. Enjoy the casual Sunday. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOf course, being a Colorado resident for so many many years, I am looking forward to the Broncos and hope they win big time!!! They set all kinds of records, both NFL AND their own team's record last weekend. But I'm like you...who cares about football when there is much better things to watch.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you both had a great week, and work all done. Now you can sit back and enjoy!!! [Italian food...yum!! I made two homemade from scratch pizzas last night...we'll have the 2nd one tonight..so no cooking for me today. lol]
My brother-in-law was happy that the Bengals won. Too bad about Ohio State. As a consolation, they certainly have a winning marching band.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea for the wreaths. I'll bet if you did a bit of googling (if you can't come up with an idea of your own for them), you'd find something you liked. There are so many talented people!
We are being lazy right now, but I may have two funerals this week. One is an older lady, and the other is a friend about our age and quite a shock. I have a board meeting on Wednesday so will be traveling. Then back here for a wedding. Our little quiet time after the holiday craziness has ended pretty abruptly. I guess the trick is to keep quiet inside. Others have far more going on in their lives. I am grateful for the blessings The Lord has bestowed.
ReplyDeleteI saw the cutest wreaths on Debbie's blog (Confessions of a Plate Addict). They would be very cute for winter. It might require a stop at Goodwill for old sweaters to use in making them. I still have Christmas up here because the tourists are enjoying taking pictures of our sock garlands.

Sounds like you had a lovely evening. That OSU game was surely a thriller right up to the end. Even though it didn't go our way, gotta give both teams thanks for such a great game. Today, I'm hoping my beloved Packers will have a great game with a winning outcome....fingers crossed. Have a great one, Terri
