Joe and I went to Sam's Club for some things, then to Ace Hardware to look at paint for the bedrooms. We decided to put the same color in both rooms, so bought three gallons of Valspar, color 'Silken Stockings'. It's a neutral beige color. The two rooms, right now, are green and blue, and have been green and blue for about 20 years! Curtains and bedspread colors will make them look different. I got the kind of paint that is also a primer, so hoping (and praying) one coat will cover the colors. We need to get started clearing out and getting ready for the new floors. The paint comes first. I won't have to worry about splatters on the carpet, since the carpet goes!!
It was nearly time for Mass, so we got home, dropped off our purchases and got ready for church. I volunteered to serve cookies after Mass. My women's group does 'Donut Sunday' on the first weekend of each month. The 4:00 Vigil Mass folks thought they were being left out, so we now do cookies, water and lemonade after the Saturday Mass. Today was the celebration of the Baptism of Jesus. We had six babies baptized during the Mass, which was so great to see!!
At the cookie station, one little boy (probably 8 years old) told me in a very loud voice that he LOVES cookies!! He came back six times for a cookie...not sure where his family was, but he really did love cookies! He was very cute! I'm sure he couldn't eat dinner tonight! LOL
Joe and I went out for dinner, then came home to catch up on TV shows we have DVR'd from last night. Now he has his hockey game on, and I am thinking seriously of going to bed!
Hope you had a good Saturday and will have a blessed Sunday! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!! Peace, love & hugs!

I wish I could get my jamas on and head to bed...but I unexpectedly have two teenage grand children for the night and it looks like they won't be ready for sleep for a while. Have a good night.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to put the supplies up!
ReplyDeleteOh..I love the sound of the paint name: Silken Stockings. Can't wait to see the pics. I will be heading to bed soon, hubby is downstairs watching something on the UnaBomber, and the boy is on his computer talking to his 'gal pal'. Funny how teens are (it's Sat. so we give him extra time). LOL. BLESSINGS
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very busy day. We have gone with traditional colors in our home, too because as you said, so much can be done with fabrics and accents. I slept until 8:30 this morning. It was great!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri, thank you for coming by my place on Wordpress. And good luck with your painting.
ReplyDeleteWhen I moved into this old house, every wall and ceiling had to get a fresh coat of paint and man I tell ya, it was some hard work, my arms and neck hurt for a long time....you know now I hate to paint...lol.
We have a spare bedroom that's painted blue and we're just talking about repainting. I'm sure your rooms will look great!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is paint manager at our local True Value and he says that the paint with the primer works well. :)
Six cookies? His parents might watch him a little closer after he climbs the walls at home. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long weekend, here, but the wedding festivities are going well. The wedding is tonight, and the groom read me his today to his bride. So sweet.

Toast... The IPAD changed the word.
ReplyDeleteYou had a productive Sat., and that is always good. I know you are anxious to get your new floors, rooms painted so you can then put the colors, etc. you want. The little boy and the cookies is cute...they do love those sweets, dont they? (me too) Have a good Sunday in whatever you choose to do.
ReplyDeleteI usually get up a bit later than 9 a.m. on Saturday unless I need to go somewhere. Of course, we don't go to bed as early as you do there. Can't wait to see your newly decorated rooms.
ReplyDeleteCookies? And I wasn't called? *lol* I wish I could still have sugar but I am glad I gave it up. I sure feel better these days.
ReplyDeleteI love to paint and to decorate. We tried Valspar once and will never, ever, no way buy it again. It was so awful I felt like suing the company over the false advertisement. One Coat my big toe! It never did cover properly and it wasn't because we went from dark to light. Quite the opposite. Went from light to dark. Afterwards, hubby went on-line to check the reviews at Lowe's and person after person said it was crap. I wish I'd read that first. I hope y'all have better luck. ~:)
Your home is going to be like brand new when you are all finished. The paint sounds like a very pretty color. I do believe that little boy really did love cookies. lol We did have a good Saturday and today and both days were blessed. Have a good week sweet Terri. Hugs
