It is raining. It has been raining all day. It has actually been raining all week! Good thing we didn't plan on eating outside. Actually, we wouldn't have planned on eating outside, even if it wasn't raining, because it is much too hot in July to plan a picnic outside.
Joe did brave the heat to cook our burgers and hotdogs on the grill, though!! They were quite good. We had potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans (which simmered all morning), watermelon, jello salad, and Helen brought cherry and peach pie for dessert. We were all stuffed and quite pleased with our stuffing! LOL
There were six of us, and I tried to make the table festive and representative of the holiday.
Our company left, and we got the kitchen cleaned up (with plenty of leftovers for tonight). Tristan, Joe and I are watching a baseball game on TV. Tristan is enjoying having Onyx snuggle with him.
Cookie, Lilly and Lucy are all back in the bedroom, sacked out. I'm fighting the urge to join them for a nap!
Hope you have had a good July 4th!! We have to take Tristan back tomorrow. Will need to leave around 10:00 a.m. Hate to see him go. We always enjoy his company.
Thanks for stopping at my page! Peace, love & hugs.

Your meal sounded yummy! Your table looked so festive. Naps sometimes need to follow a good meal for sure. Be safe tomorrow as you take T. home...do you have to go all the way or 1/2? Hugs and Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteJust halfway, Linda. Jim is meeting us in Punta Gorda.
DeleteSounds like you've had a nice time with Tristan there. Love all the festive decoration on your blog today, Terri! So patriotic. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteYUMMY menu! I can taste it all as I read it. Tristan looks like he has gotten taller since he has been there. He definitely looks very happy as does Onyx.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have had lots of rain this week, too - - but just another reason to be inside the air-conditioning again!
I can't imagine being without AC now, Lynda. We didn't have it when I was growing up in Ohio, but didn't really need it there. Down here - whewie without it!
DeleteHappy 4th of July! God BLess America. sandie
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great 4th of July. That food sounds so delicious sweet Terri. I am glad you enjoy my pictures. Have a great weekend sweet friend. Hugs

ReplyDeleteYour table looks pretty. Food sounds yummy. We just had burgers and chips. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite 'summer party' meal. And I love your table. You are always so festive.
ReplyDeleteYou're on your way by now to take Tristan back. You'll no doubt miss him. He's a good-looking young man and they grow up way too fast.
I've seen pictures on the weather channel of lots of flooding in FL from these storms. I hope you don't have the flooding in your area.
Take care and have a good day. ♥
Your table looks lovely and the food sounds wonderful. Hope you got your nap, that is, if the cats left you some room. Looks like everybody enjoyed the holiday. I know how much you and Onyx will miss Tristan. Maybe he'll come for another visit soon.
