Here are my answers to this week's Hodgepodge questions!
1. July 24th is Amelia
Earhart Day. Earhart was the first female to fly solo across the
Atlantic Ocean. What's something you've recently accomplished solo? Nothing I can think of,
so nothing worth mentioning, I guess. I
made a cheesecake from a new recipe last weekend. I don’t do BIG things like flying solo across
the ocean!
2. What's one product you use that never ever fails? Witch Hazel
3. Have you found your place in the world? Where is it? I am right where I am meant to be, I believe. Florida, with Joe, and in my job at the Museum.
4. Worst movie you ever saw? I’ve seen lots of bad movies, and promptly forget about them. Have never walked out on a movie, but have changed the channel many times. The one that sticks out in my mind, though, is “Glengarry Glenn Ross”, with Jack Lemon. I was horribly disappointed in it, and did not finish watching it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glengarry_Glen_Ross_%28film%29
5. What's the last fun thing you did? Joe and I went to see The Lone Ranger, at Cobb Theaters on Sunday. That was lots of fun. We shared a large popcorn, and laughed - it is a funny movie!
6. The month of July is named for Roman Emperor Julius Caesar...ever been to Rome? What's your favorite Italian dish? I have been to Rome. My most memorable meal while in Italy was white truffle pasta, in a little restaurant in Orvieto. I love pasta of any kind, though. So do my hips.
7. What is one piece of advice you'd offer new mom Kate Middleton? Don’t let the nanny do it all.
8. Insert your own random thought here. It is raining again. I was just longing for September, when the hot steamy rains will (hopefully) stop for us.

I am impatiently waiting for cooler Fall weather. Tired of this heat. Stay cool and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAfter July the 4th, it is downhill to Fall for me and I just wait it out inside where it is cool but not cold. I walked out of the '40 year old virgin' movie because of the trashy talk. I dont pay money to hear potty mouth and think that it is entertainment. I think you are right where you should be too! Have a great Wed. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answers, Terri. And now I want to see The Lone Ranger. I thought it was good in another post that you warned us not to contrast it with the original TV show. Anyway, I've never ever used Witch Hazel. But on to the weather, it's sunny and only 65 degrees here today. I do hope that we get more summer eventually before the big W sets in.
ReplyDeleteWitch Hazel is a great make-up remover, facial cleanser. I use it every night. You can also use it on bites and scrapes, too. A cooling astringent.
DeleteI hear Kate is not going to have a full time nanny. We wanted to see Lone Ranger, but I heard it wasn't great. Now I might go see it anyway-can't believe everything the critics say!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, you have to be a Johnny Depp fan to enjoy it. He is always 'over the top'. Just be prepared!
DeleteI thought about going to see the Lone Ranger....don't even know if it is still in our small theater...but as a child I loved watching the Lone Ranger on tv and think I might not appreciate this film. I love summer and while fall is nice it always reminds me that nasty winter is on the way...maybe Linda is right and I should move to FL....just how I would be able to do that eludes me. I love your hodgepodge answers....entertaining. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteRuth, where there is a will, there is always a way. I'm sure your daughter would be a big help. I will also say that Lakeland is a very easy place to live! Come on down!
DeleteI thought about going to see The Lone Ranger- the previews are pretty good. Who knows- I might make it yet. :) I didn't even think about putting tea tree oil down for #2. Your answer reminded me of it. We're getting plenty of rain up here in SC too. But I like it. Though I might be the only one who does. LOL
ReplyDeleteGood answers, Terri. I hope my place is here too. If it isn't, I've wasted a big part of my life. I like tea tree oil and neem oil too - just have to get used to their peculiar smells. In summer, I like jojoba oil (first press organic) because it's absorbed immediately and doesn't make my skin greasy. These are things that work for me.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite dish in Rome was escalopines. Though I'm not a big meat lover, I like veal. Hope September brings good weather for you and for me.
Oh, I was so happy to hear you liked The Lone Ranger movie!!! I've been really wanting to see that one, when it comes around my way!!.. Have a great week! ~tina
ReplyDeleteWhat do you use witch hazel for? AND I have not seen that movie - thank goodness. sandie
ReplyDeleteMake-up removal, Sandie. It is great for taking off the mascara and makeup. Also good for bites and scratches.
DeleteI like your answers to today's questions. Interesting. I've used Witch Hazel too. My mother always did the same.. used it on her face every night.
ReplyDeleteI agree that you are probably right where you're suppose to be too.
You have a good evening.
