Friends, it has been a long week, but - by golly - tomorrow is Friday, and I am just about ready to send a trial balance to the auditors! I was able to close our fiscal year 2013 yesterday, finished journal entries and reconciliations today, and will have tomorrow to write the year-end financial reports. Whew! High fives all around! Excuse me, please, for writing about this, but that's been my week, and I am feeling pretty good.Four of us went to visit a co-worker, who had surgery on Tuesday and is in the hospital until tomorrow or Saturday. Say a prayer for Gregory M., if you will. He had complications from a surgery he had six months ago, and has a tough recovery ahead.
When we left the hospital, we stopped at a little restaurant, the Purple Onion, for some lunch. It was nice to be out of the office and spending some time with co-workers I don't get to talk with much. Their offices are downstairs, while mine is upstairs. It was good to see Gregory, and nice to be out for lunch.
Joe and I went to Sam's Club after work, for a prescription and some groceries. We found some very nice fresh strawberries, a cantaloupe, and some apricots. I made a quick stir-fry for dinner when we got home.
I need to catch up on everyone's posts, so will sign off for now. Thanks for stopping by! Peace, love & hugs.
I know you feel good that the closing is almost over. You can enjoy your weekend knowing that is all behind you. You work so hard...I can just feel it when you talk about it, and they are lucky to have you there. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are accomplishing so much! It's such a great feeling and a good way to go into the weekend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got all your end of year stuff done. Sounds like you had a nice day. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI know you must be really happy to be getting all the things done at work that you have worked so hard on. Sounds like you had a really nice day. Prayers for Gregory to be well very soon with no more complications. Have a great day tomorrow and a wonderful weekend sweet Terri. Hugs
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a good productive work week! I pray your friend Gregory will do well in the days to come. Friday and the weekend are almost here...hoping you have good ones.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very busy day. Hope you two enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI admire you, Terri. I did the accounting for my building for 4 years and at the end of each year would spend days trying ti get the figures to balance. It was so frustrating when I was 1 cent off and until I found that missing cent... so don't apologize.
ReplyDeleteStir fries are always good, especially in the summer. My mother always said, 'If you can't microwave it, you can't eat it,'
I hope and pray that Gregory's recovery will be less difficult than expected. Enjoy your Friday.
Good to hear of your accomplishments and that you had a nice visit with your coworkers. Enjoy your Friday!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful week!! You must feel so great! I said a prayer for your co-worker. I bet your visit brought his spirits up!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how your week has been. Been there, done that. You have reason to be happy.
ReplyDeleteI said a prayer for Gregory for his healing and speedy recovery.
You have a good weekend. ♥
Praying the results of the trial balance are what you expect them to be! It does feel good to be done with a project of mammoth proportions.
ReplyDeleteI know your co-worker appreciated the visit. Things like that help cheer up a person and help with the recovery. And I am glad you got to go out with some co-workers you don't see every minute of the day. That was sort of like a reward for the end-of-the year stuff!!!
