Another weekend behind us, with a new week ahead. God is good.
I sure enjoy being a greeter at my church. Hugs are freely given, and that's hard to beat! When I got home from church, I did my usual laundry, and I've been streaming Sullivan's Crossing on Netflix. It's by the same folks who did Virgin River, which I also loved. Lots of drama, but also lots of feel-good stuff. Have any of you watched either of those? I can be such a slug!!
I've been busy with the last bit of "sprucing up" around the house. New blinds for the windows have been ordered. Some new curtains have also gone up. I'll take some photos in a bit, but the changes aren't dramatic... just some sprucing up.
I get my hair trimmed tomorrow. Wednesday, I'm having lunch with my friend, Cheryl (Helen's niece). Thursday is the usual dinner out with my Mas Verde friends, and I'm taking Mary Jane to lunch on Friday to thank her for taking care of the cats while I was gone. She did all but four of the days.
Oh, and I received an invitation to my granddaughter Lauren's wedding shower on September 6th. I also got a text from her, which was so nice. I've missed meeting her for lunch every couple of months. It's a busy and exciting time for her right now.
Thanks for stopping by!! Wishing you all a blessed week ahead!!

Can't wait to see the new drapes and the sprucing up, smiles. Wishing a great day.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen either shows you mentioned, but have read the books, Terri. Have a good week and stay cool and hydrated.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched those shows and don't know anything about them. We don't have Netflix. We did watch the HGTV show "Castle Impossible". Was it you that was watching that one? I heard about it from one of our blogging friends, and I thought I might be you. We loved it, and hope they will be renewed for another season. How wonderful that you'll be able to go to a shower for your granddaughter Lauren. Yes, I imagine the times are getting exciting for her, with so much to plan. When is the wedding? Oh, replacing blinds. I so need to do that. These blinds are so old and nasty. I wanted to replace them with the same type (mini blinds), but the newer ones have different kind of brackets, and so I'd have to redo all of that too, and I don't know about putting more holes in the walls on these thin walls. It's a major undertaking. So I haven't done it yet. Are you using mini blinds, or the larger plantation style blinds? Just wondering. Can't wait to see what you've done. Sounds like you have a nice week ahead. We have Dr. appointments and other normal stuff, nothing too exciting. Take care and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven''t seen Castle Impossible but will look for it! I got the same style that I have and not real expensive since I have 16 windows. I will send you the link. I got them on Amazon. I hope the brackets will be similar but using a good wood filler can help with old holes, etc.
DeleteI haven't watched those shows but as you know, we're enjoying Somebody feed Phil! When we were at Ford's Garage, Bob tried to do a Phil face because the food was so good - but I think only Phil can do a Phil face! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw Pamela's comment and I think I may have posted about Castle Impossible. We loved that one and now it's not being renewed.
You're doing good at the house with the sprucing up.
Is Lauren's shower going to be a distance to drive for you? I know you'll have fun!
Yes, it's in Naples. Takes about 3.5 hours down and the same back. I've not been invited to stay over yet, but I can handle the drive and won't have to have a cat sitter. It's not worth getting a hotel.
DeleteSounds like a good week ahead! How nice to have a greeter at church! Can't wait to see the perk of the new shades!
ReplyDeletePhew, I've just been reading all your holiday posts Terri. What a great time you had and what a lot of great photos. So glad you had a good time and got home safely. (despite the delays.)
ReplyDeleteSprucing up makes things feel new!!! Hugs from our church family are so special, they just feel good♥
ReplyDeleteBeing a greeter at church does sound wonderful especially with the hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is the 3rd time I've read about someone watching Sullivan's Crossing. I think I need to see what it's all about.
The sprucing up sounds fab and enjoy your week. You have some great plans.
Another busy weekend for you, Terri, and a busy, but fun, week ahead. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOur blinds sorely need replaced, as well. Little things sure have a habit of piling up until someone (me) cries, "Enough!" I didn't grow up in a hugging family, but love giving and getting them from my church friends. We need to check out those Netflix shows you're enjoying. Thanks for the recom!
ReplyDeleteI have watched both those shows. No big brainer or anything but cute. You sounded like you really have your placed fixed up.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has mentioned that I should watch Sullivan's Crossing.
ReplyDeleteSprucing up is going on here next week too. I have hired it out. That was so hard to do, but I am just gettin older and have so much to take care of that I let Hubby call in help. We always love pictures.
I have never watched Sullivan's Crossing. I have watched all of Virgin River and saw that their next season will soon be available on Netflix. I don't know when I'll have time to watch it. I'm still trying to get through all of Call the Midwife for the second time. I usually watch one episode per week while I'm folding laundry, so it's taking me a while, haha!!
ReplyDeleteA granddaughter's wedding!! That will be so delightful!!
