Last Thursday, our supper group went to Il Forno Italian restaurant. New neighbors, Sandy and Bob, went with us. I didn't take photos, but there were eight of us.
On Friday, I did cleaning, baked brownies, and prepped a bit to prepare for the ice cream get-together on Saturday.
The ice cream party was to begin at 2:00. I was expecting 10-12 folks, but there were 16!! I ran out of vanilla ice cream and the butter pecan! Still had chocolate, mint chocolate, and caramel cream. I tried to get around to speak with everyone after everyone had ice cream. A few left after an hour or so, but six (immediate neighbors plus Sandy and Bob) didn't leave until 4:30. I think it was a fun time. Sandy and Bob thanked me several times for hosting them.
That said, I was busy and didn't take one photo after the people started arriving. I took one of the sundae bar where everyone could make their own sundae. I passed the bowls of ice cream, and they could put as much or as little extras as they wanted. There was also whipped cream, but I didn't take it out of the refrigerator until folks arrived.
Today, I am off to the big Webster Flea Market with Susan. Mali called me last night to tell me she can't make it because of an appointment that came up, but Susan and I are off for the adventure!!
Thanks for peeking in today! Have a blessed week ahead!

Your sundae bar looked fantastic, Terri. Enjoy your outing with Susan.
ReplyDeleteYou Sundae Bar was a great idea. Not too much prep work and a great way to host a bunch of people. That was a nice way to have the new neighbors meet people. Your neighborhood seems like a very welcoming place.
ReplyDeleteWow - you were brave having that ice cream bar - but what a good idea for a social. I agree with Mari - your neighborhood sounds terrific! Have fun today.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the ice cream social was a huge success! I'm glad. Have fun today at the flea market!!!
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so darned cute, Terri, and I'm glad your ice cream social was a hit. Have a great time today, and don't forget to take photos - LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to hostess a social bash!!! Looks great! As for the boys, yeah, they look like they've got it all under control!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty spread, Terri! I'll bet your friends will be talking about that for a long time. I hope you and Susan had a really fun day!
ReplyDeleteOH, what a fun time that must have been! Such a "SWEET" way to welcome the new neighbors! And your kitties look like mine do right now...sacked out. They just want to sleep all day long. I don't know what they do all night long, now that I know they are both "fixed", they must just like to enjoy watching the "night life". LOL. What do your cats do all night? do they sleep, or do they wander around the house at night? Maybe because they are indoor cats they have adapted to your routine. I would hate to think of them wandering around the house all night. Maybe some day I will think more about bringing our cats indoors...it's SO hot outside right now, they are panting all the time. I feel so bad for them, but it would be a major adjustment inside our house to bring them inside. We just have TOO much stuff that they would want to explore! They do go down in the woods where it must be cooler during the heat of the day, so I guess they adapt.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading about the fun things you do with your friends and neighbors! You are blessed!!!
My boys are mid-life in cat years and they sleep most of the day and most of the night. Vinny sleeps with me most nights and sometimes Casper sleeps on top of my jewelry box. They both have some "zoomies" once in awhile and they do play with some of the toys. I'm glad their gender has been settled and you can relax with them now!! I do love dogs, but cats are so much easier!! Sending a hug and lots of love!!
DeleteAn ice cream party - how fun!! Harvey (our former kitty) had a room upstairs like you describe. He had comfy places to sit or lie down and he had a litter box, food, and water. I love the picture of them "back in charge." Have fun today!
