Friday Fotos...

If you have followed my posts these past few days, you know I've had company.  Peggy and Kirk were here last Friday.  Peggy is my BFF Elaine's younger sister, who is married to Kirk.  They were here, from Ohio, for a nephew's wedding.  The wedding was on Sunday, over in Lake Wales.  I posted about that on Monday, so won't go into detail about all of that again.

On Monday, Kirk's sister, Susan, arrived.  She is the groom's mom.  I was happy to meet her and welcome her into my family of friends.  We all had a great time.  She left on Wednesday, and Peggy and Kirk left yesterday.  The house feels empty after so much activity!

Here are some photos I took...

Tuesday morning, I wanted to show off Lakeland's Bonnet Springs Park, which has been in the news lately, making Lakeland very proud!

Above, Kirk, Peggy, and I.
Below, Susan, Kirk, and Peggy.

We hopped on the tram that takes you all around the park.  We were happy to be riders and did the entire circuit through the park.  I took this selfie of me and Susan...

The Children's Museum building...

The greenhouse for the park...

The Butterfly House...

There is a boardwalk through the trees...

We left the park, and I took them on a little tour of Lakeland.  We ended up parking downtown and went to Harry's Seafood Bar & Grill for some lunch.  It was a beautiful day to sit outside.  Harry's has creole-style food.  I took a picture of my shrimp etouffee...

On Wednesday morning, we all went to Fred's Market for the breakfast buffet.  We girls had the blue-plate (one visit to the buffet) and Kirk opted for the full buffet with multi visits.  He only went back one time.  We were all full, and we were also entertained by the best waitress!!  She was a riot and kept us laughing.  She got a nice tip for taking such good care of us.  I'm sorry I didn't get her photo.  The picture is my blue plate, one visit meal. Yum!

The coffee mugs are great, and yes, they sell them.
Susan treated us each to a mug as we were leaving.  Such a sweet gift.

Another guest was leaving as we were trying to get a picture of us with the sign.
He asked if he could take the photo, and we said yes.

I got a haircut yesterday afternoon.  Last night, Larry and Sharon picked me up and we went to Bob Evans for our Thursday Mas Verde dinner out.  Tim and Judy are still traveling, so there were just the three of us.  Peggy suggested the chicken salad and fruit plate at Bob Evans.  She said it was very good, and she was right.  Had to take a picture to send to her and thank her for the recommendation.

My calendar is clear today and tomorrow. I have plenty of time to get sheets and towels washed and put away until someone else comes to visit.  I am a Greeter at church tomorrow. My week ahead is pretty chill.  Mayfaire (art festival) is this weekend (always Mother's Day weekend).  I hope the weather holds!!  There will be pictures!

Peace and Hugs!

O mother's love, the sweetest known,
The richest earthly gift we own!
Our grateful thanks shall clearly ring
To reach the throne of God, our King.
Our praise shall seek the Lord of power
For blessings known this festal hour,
For, far above all gifts divine
The love of mothers brightly shine.

  1. Sounds like you were busy and entertained. It is always taking people to see the local sights. I always enjoy going to all our places too. I love art and craft things. Seems like there aren't as many these days, but I enjoy seeing all the things. Love the mug!

  6. It's posts like this, Terri, that make me wish Ron and I'd considered Lakeland v. Tampa back when. Water under the bridge, perhaps, but I'm still putting Fred's Market breakfast buffet on my list. That coffee mug is so cute; what a sweet gesture!

  8. Looks like you had a wonderful time with all of your friends and out to eat at some fun places too. That food all looks good enough to eat! That salad plate at Bob Evans really does look good! You are blessed to have so many wonderful friends to come and visit and do fun things with. Your guest room seems to have a revolving door! LOL. You definitely have the gift of hospitality. Thanks for sharing your wonderful time with us.
