The Wednesday Hodgepodge on May 28th...

Thanks to Joyce for today's Hodgepodge!  You can join the fun HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 604

From this Side of the Pond

1. What's your favorite room in your house and why?  My living room!  It's where my life happens these days.  My recliner is my "nest" and is where my laptop lives, the TV is here, my dining room is here... visitors join me here, meals are enjoyed here, conversations, laughter...

2. What's something that will instantly annoy you?  Stupidity - my own, in a book, on TV (the news, especially), or in someone else...  don't be stupid!  For the record, ignorance and stupidity are two entirely different things.

3. May 28th is National Hamburger Day...will you celebrate? How do you like yours? If you're not cooking at home is there a favorite place you like to go for a burger? Did you ever work in a fast food  restaurant?  I won't have a burger.  I rarely do.  If I do, I don't eat the bun.  I never worked in a fast food restaurant.

4. What are three scents you like?  Coffee!  Vanilla!  Yeast bread baking!

5. What do you miss most about being a kid?  My parents and my little brother.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I had a text from granddaughter Lauren over the weekend.  She sent me a "save the date"!!  They have set the wedding date in December, and closed on a new house last week.  I already secured my room for two nights at a Marriott Resort in the Keys.  It's a black-tie wedding and the welcome dinner the night before will be on a beach.  Sounds pretty amazing.  Now... what to wear!!?

Peace and Hugs!
Jesus loves us, this I know!!

  1. Stupidity. Yes, and there's a lot of it out there. I also hate when I do something stupid. I love a black tie wedding, and in the Keys! Sounds like an event to look forward to for sure. Have a great day Terri!

  2. Ooh, a black tie wedding! Does that mean you have to wear a black tie? LOL. I can't wait to see what you will wear. You have until December to decide! But at least in the Keys it shouldn't be too cold! Sounds like a great time and so exciting for Lauren and her beloved! Congratulations to them! I love my living room too, but I probably love my "Room With a View" even more, because this is where I sit and connect with all of you in blogland and beyond. (and keep an eye on things going on outside on the porch and pond). I don't do well with a laptop. I need to sit at my desk to type properly on my computer. But in my recliner in the living room I enjoy reading a good book and eating meals on a tv tray with hubby, while we watch a little bit of the news (yes, talk about stupid) and then watch some favorite shows together while we eat. And we can see Still Waters Pond from there too. Probably no burgers for us today. We had them on Sunday when the kids were here, so that's enough burgers for me for this week. Hubby loves burgers and will usually order them in a restaurant unless it is a seafood place or Mexican food. His motto is, "when in doubt, get a hamburger!" LOL. I hope you have a lovely day today.

  3. I do irritate myself when a tv show/movie has the main character do something so obviously stupid and I get annoyed at them! lol The wedding plans sound wonderful--plenty of time to find a dress/outfit at least!

  4. My living room is like yours!
I agree on stupidity, there seems to be more all the time. And yes, I'm guilty of it too sometimes!
    Congrats to Lauren!

  5. Great term, "nest"! I want to borrow that.
That's so exciting about Lauren's black-tie affair!!! December -- will that, perhaps, coincide with your birthday? I know you'll enjoy looking for that one special outfit.
Thank you for reminding me, the difference in ignorance and stupidity.

  6. Thanks for sharing your Wednesday Hodgepodge answers! Your living room sounds like such a warm and lively hub—it really feels like the heart of your home. I appreciate your clear distinction between stupidity and ignorance; that’s a thoughtful perspective. Your love of scents like coffee, vanilla, and fresh bread baking is so comforting and cozy. It’s touching how much you miss your family from childhood—those bonds are truly special. And wow, congratulations on your granddaughter’s upcoming wedding! A black-tie beach welcome dinner sounds like a dream event. I hope you find the perfect outfit to celebrate in style!

  7. Oh, I love those scents too (though I picked different ones), and I also picked my living room as my favorite room in our house. Stupidity in anyone (myself included!) also annoys me. Fun Hodgepodge today!

  8. I do love the smell of fresh-baked bread, Terri, and I miss the fun I had playing outdoors when I was a child. The wedding sounds fantastic, too. I'm sure you'll find the perfect dress for the occasion. Blessings!

  9. I love the smell of fresh baked bread and vanilla. Kelly gets headaches with vanilla so I can't use it.
A black-tie wedding - that is going to be incredible. You are already ready.
I love hamburgers, but I am hearing red meat is not good for you.
I love the living room too.
Hey, I looked up the area - Lakeland where you live to show my husband. There are so many. Can you send me your areas or homes - if you feel comfortable?

  10. You have described my living room too only I don't have a recliner, just a basic arm chair.
Aww! Congratulations to your granddaughter, what an exciting time for her!

  11. How exciting - a wedding!! Do you have a Von Maur near you? I bought my mother of the bride dress there and they have a great department of extra dressy dresses - short and long. Oh . . .the smell of bread baking - I didn't think of that scent!! I must admit that I love my recliner, too :-)
