No Friday Fotos - Weekly Recap...

It's been that kind of week.  I shared lots of photos from Mayfaire on Monday, but I haven't taken another photo this week.

Let's see... on Tuesday, I had to take Helen's tax return refund check to the attorney's office.  When you think you are done with the tasks, something else pops up.  At least it is a refund (very small), and most of it will go to the attorney for having to deal with this one last thing.  Honored that Helen trusted me, and her friendship for many, many years was always a blessing.  I will never agree to be an executor, health care surrogate, etc., ever again.  My heart can't take it.

Kroger delivered my groceries on Wednesday.  I had to order some extra ice cream and Ghirardelli syrups in preparation for the ice cream 'social' I am hosting on Saturday afternoon for my new neighbors.  Friends are stopping by at 2:00ish, and we will have ice cream sundaes - make your own.  I have walnuts, cherries, whipped cream, and sprinkles too.  I hope it will be fun and Bob and Sandy can meet more of our neighbors!  They have joined our supper group, and we all went to Il Forno for Italian food last night.

So yes, there were nine of us out for dinner last night!!  Tim and Judy are back from their vacation in Canada, visiting family, and John and Ginny were able to join us this week.  I also got a couple of projects done yesterday.  I've had some sewing repairs to do and got a couple of things done.  Still some slacks to hem (ugh) and there is that motivation thing, or should I say that NO motivation thing! LOL

Today is my day to clean, getting ready for a dozen or more friends coming by tomorrow for ice cream.  I will make some brownies too.  They always go well with ice cream.  Hoping it will be fun.  I WILL take a few photos to share next week.

This Sunday is our last Sunday school until school starts again in August.  Seems funny to me that we take the summer, school vacation time off, but we do.  I can re-set the alarm and get a bit more shut-eye, so won't complain!!

I got to talk with both of my 'boys' for Mother's Day and have talked with my sister a couple of times.  My great-nephew, Ezra, turns three next week.  I sent off a card and gift that he can have for his party.  He is into construction equipment - the bigger the better.  How fun!!

That's my week!  Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you a blessed weekend and week ahead!

Peace and Hugs!!

Facing a task unfinished
That drives us to our knees
A need that, undiminished
Rebukes our slothful ease
We, who rejoice to know Thee
Renew before Thy throne
The solemn pledge we owe Thee
To go and make Thee known

  1. I totally hear you on that executer thing. I just got something again from the IRS on my Dad. It took them over a year to send his tax refund from the year he passed... It doesn't seem to end.
Have fun with your friends tomorrow. Ice cream and brownies sound good!

  3. I have never been an executor yet. Can't say I want too. If you have brownies and ice - you WILL have a successful party!

  4. You were an amazing person to do that for Helen. Just taking care of myself and my mom lets me know I would not want to do that. My brother-in-law is doing it for one of our neighbors. She was left paralyzed after trying to remove a brain tumor a few years back. Her hubby and son have both died. I think he is saintly for doing so.
I can tell you as a leader of our church small group, we love taking off June and July. We only meet for a social once at the end of those months. It gives Jeff and me a bit of time to recharge!

  5. I was the executor for my mother's estate, Terri, and I'll be the first to tell you, I never want to go through that again. I couldn't have done it without Danny's help and calmness. Have a great ice cream social on Saturday! I'm sure the photos will be great.

  6. Saturday sounds like lots of fun. Oooohhhh....brownies Y U M ! Ice Cream too! Have fun.Oh our youngest grandson Ignatius is into tractors, dump trucks all the usual boy toys. My poor husband was executor to his mom's estate. Good thing he works for a major law firm so he had great backup! But it is still lots of work. I am very emotional so it would never be a good idea to ask me although I am very honest and have good character. Oh my goodness! Have fun tomorrow and enjoy!

  7. You need crowned Miss Congeniality, Terri! Seriously, an ice creams social mixer is such a great idea; I hope you all enjoy every mouthful!

  8. Ice cream social. What fun!
It's amazing how busy I am now that I'm retired. Probably more so than when I was gainfully employed. I'll add my thoughts on the executor in saying that I don't think it would be anything I would actively pursue either, but, if someone wanted me to do it, I would. I ran office accounts for large corporations for quite awhile. Couldn't be much different.
    Hope your day was blessed.

    1. Pam, it's more an emotional thing. I am an accountant but it is so much more than accounting. Paying bills is easy. Dealing with numerous beneficiaries, legalities, and probate problems... and then the emotion of making health decisions. Been there and am done with it.
