Monday Musings on May 5...

Hello friends!  We have a new week ahead, and mine looks quiet so far.  I will go back to last week and just mention that my company left on Wednesday and Thursday.  (I heard from them that they all arrived home safely.)  I did laundry on Friday, getting sheets and towels done and ready for my next visitors.

I slept in a bit on Saturday, not hurrying to do anything.  While reading the newspaper and having a second cup of coffee (yes, back to coffee), I got a text from my neighbor, Susan.  She asked if I would like to ride over to Auburndale (next town, east) to go to a craft fair.  I said yes, of course!  I just needed to change from cleaning clothes to something a bit more presentable.  We left a little past 10:00 a.m.

It was a small gathering of local people selling crafts.  There were lots of beaded pens, earrings, breads, canned goods, baskets, soaps, etc.  It was on one side of a lovely little park that had a pretty butterfly entrance. We both made a few purchases (I got some soap and a jar of chow-chow).  It was fun talking with the vendors, and then we went to Beef O'Brady's for some lunch. Susan is a sweet friend and neighbor.

I was a greeter at church on Sunday.  We had a substitute pastor because our pastor's mother is failing, and he left to be with her in Kansas.  Our Sunday school teacher isn't well, so we had a substitute teacher for Sunday school. Prayers lifted for all.

Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you all a blessed week ahead!

Peace and Hugs!

  9. Looks like a lovely day in the park. I am enjoying going to these kinds of little craft fairs at the places where Benton has been selling his flower pots. There will be another one this weekend. You can always find some fun and interesting stuff there! Oh, I am sorry for your Pastor and the situation with his mother. Praying for his family now. And also your Sunday school teacher. It seems like when it rains it pours. Praying for all. I hope you have a lovely week this week. It's nice to not be too busy for a change.

  10. I love that butterfly entrance - how pretty!! I enjoy those kinds of craft fairs. We were supposed to have Art in the Lot (an arts and crafts event) on this past Saturday in our church parking lot. We do this twice a year. We had monsoon (exaggeration) rains (actually lots!) and they had to cancel. I'm so sorry about your pastor and your Sunday School teacher!
