My weekend report could be more blog-worthy. On Saturday, I worked in the back room (Joe's office, now my sewing/craft room, and a junk deposit room) and started three piles... keep - donate - toss. My trash can will be full tonight for tomorrow's pick-up. I took the glass doors off my walk-in shower and got the metal framing down. I like it much better with the weighted shower curtain. There is still sticky gunk I need to get off the wall but that will happen.
After church and Sunday school, I got my two loads of clothes washed, dried, folded, and put away. I was hungry for some Szechuan shrimp so ordered Chinese to be delivered. It was good. I have leftover taco meat to make into a dip for later during the game.
I am writing this before the Super Bowl but will check in for the commercials. I'm not cheering for either team.
This week brings us Valentine's Day and also the third anniversary of my sweet Joe's death from covid. February 16, 2021, at 3:10 pm. It is still hard to wrap my head around the fact that he has been gone for three years. I continue to do my best to make him proud of me. We will be reunited again one day. I say often that I wouldn't call him back from Heaven, but I sure do miss him so much. I'm doing okay and gettin' it done.
Had a good chat with our son, Joe, yesterday. So glad he is home from the Middle East and hoping he won't have to deploy again. Praying.
That's enough. Wishing you all a great week ahead!
Jesus loves us, this I know!!
I'm starting a similar clean out project in our spare room this week.
ReplyDeleteI know that Joe would be so proud of you!
Yes, I thought that awful anniversary was approaching. It doesn't lessen the hurt, but I've no doubt Joe would be so very proud of you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know those glass shower doors could be taken down so easily. 'Don't miss those (we had in Arizona) one little bit!
I can hear the longing and heartache in your words regarding Joe, Terri, and how much you miss him. May God hold you close this week and bring you peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteBet your place looks nice and tidy again. I've been doing cleanouts too. It feels SO good to declutter all my little spaces. Fixed up the sewing / craft / home office recently, but I did share that. *brain fade* lol Now I've gotta start on the yard and plant for Spring. Yippee! Spring! Can't wait to have flowers again.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
My space doesn't look nice and tidy yet. That was just the first round! Miles to go before I'm done!
DeleteYou got the glass doors and framing off the bathroom wall yourself? Impressive.
ReplyDeleteI know what you are saying about Joe - you miss him - but know he is happier than he would be here.
Rick has covid today - just checked it. :(
You are a real go getter!
I hope Rick has an easy time with his covid. Prayers lifted!
Delete(((Hugs))) for this week's anniversary that we all wish you never had to remember. Joe was a wonderful man, and you certainly were blessed to have him all those years. I can imagine he is helping to prepare a beautiful place for you in heaven for someday...but until then, I know you will continue to miss him. I cannot begin to imagine. Meanwhile, I like that you are keeping busy with many wonderful friends, activities, and projects around the house. We took our shower doors off here a couple of years ago and put up a shower curtain too. The frame for the doors was too low and narrow for John especially, and it was so hard to keep clean. I am very happy for that improvement. I am working on cleaning out files, things, etc., little by little as well. It takes time and energy, but it feels good when it gets done. We are so overloaded that it will probably take the rest of my life to get it better organized, but at least I am trying to get it started. Otherwise our kids will have to do it someday and I know they won't be happy about that. LOL. Praying for you this week. May God comfort you and give you happy memories and thoughts to bring smiles to your heart. (((Hugs))) again.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could give you a hug in person this week. We never quit missing those who have gone before us. May God comfort you as only He does.i know you have great faith.
ReplyDeleteI know you must miss Joe so very much! If I lived nearby, I would run over and hug you and share a Valentine treat with you!! I'm impressed that you took down the glass doors and metal framing - way to go!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy weekend to me. I don't think we ever get over the loss of a loved one, especially a spouse. We just learn to cope a little better as time passes by. I love the way you change your blog page up with seasons and events Terri.
