Summer Solstice
Welcome, it's Tuesday 4 time. I keep it up in memory of my friend Toni Taddeo who really enjoyed her blogs.
The Summer solstice arrived and some got hot weather and some got chill and rain. But summer is the time for holidays or vacations, summertime activities, and being outdoors more. It's also a time, like winter, for complaints and we realize that people in Texas, Arizona, and Florida stay inside in summer.
1. How is summer treating you so far this year? Summer is no different from the other seasons for me. I am blessed all the time! Could things improve? I think things can always improve. How do you make summer fun in your neck of the woods? Before skin cancer and in my younger years, the beach would have been on the calendar for at least two weekends a month. Joe loved the beach, even though we had a great in-ground pool at the other house. I try to stay out of the sun these days.
2. We give you magic powers! You can change the climate, the surroundings, even your house, and anything you like. Tell us what you are doing to make your summer or your entire year better..... GO! I would just hire out the cleaning and the painting and changing the backsplash in the kitchen. I might also put an RV van in the carport to make my dreamed-of road trips more comfortable!!
3. The puppy on the boat at the right is your new friend. He wants a name. What name will you give him and would you like to be in that picture (if you can't sail we will provide someone for you!) Let's just call him Jack. You can put me in the picture, but I would need a Captain who knows how to sail. I am happy rowing, however!
4. It's friendship potluck day at your house this month. Everyone is coming. Please assign us what dishes each of us is to bring to make for a great day. (by the way, you needn't use names. Just name some dishes you would like people to bring along) I don't assign dishes but just suggest desserts, salads, fruit, or sides. Bring what you want. I'll do the burgers and brats on the grill.
Peace & Hugs!

Yes, the summer picnics that even for me here in the North belong in the spring and fall! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! You got me on that song!!! I had to look it up, but here's the 1st verse:
ReplyDeleteWe are sailing o’er the surging tide
To a home where joys ne’er die;
Trusting Jesus only as our guide,
We shall reach it by and by.
I will have to listen to it and see if I've ever heard it before. I don't think I have. I can't wait to come to your summer picnic! I'll bring some fresh fruit and maybe a pie! Oh, the RV camper sounds like a fun idea too! Happy summertime!
#2 - Same for me!! I have that dream too. If I still had the joint health I'd buy an older, small (say, 15' or so) motorhome, fix it up, and travel all over. I'd tow our motorbikes behind. Wouldn't that be fun!?
ReplyDeleteJack is a good name. The graphic does look our Jack Russell Terrier we call Jack.
I grew up on the water and I can sail. It's not that difficult. You could learn. Let's go!
Love & Prayers xx
I'll be there and I'll bring a banana pudding!
ReplyDeleteYou picked the perfect song for the theme today.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to come to the potluck!
I'm so there with you on the RV! (Of course, I'd have to find someone else to drive.) How about, I'll bring cute paper plates, plastic ware .....and my big appetite!
ReplyDeleteI love your answer to the first queston.. blessed all the time. that's the spirit we all need.
ReplyDeleteI would need a good captain, too, Terri. I have fond memories of my uncle taking us out in a sailboat he built himself. He really knew what he was doing, and that certainly put all his passengers at ease. Your potluck sounds fun, too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I like your thought on the first part of #1. I enjoyed the rest of your answers too.
