Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 431
1. Is school back in session where you live? Yes. Is everyone in person or does your system still offer a virtual option? Since I don't have kiddos in school, I haven't paid too much attention, but I believe it is all in person now. Are kids wearing masks? Masks are not mandated in Florida but that doesn't mean parents can't have their children wear masks.
2. Something you still do 'old school'? I read my Bible rather than using my Kindle or phone for my Bible reading and devotions. It's about 50/50 in my Sunday school class. I like having my Bible with me, in person.
3. One lesson you've learned in the 'school of life'? That there is very little we really control in our lives. Just when you think you have it figured out... you figure out that you don't have anything figured out!! God is in control!!
4. When you were in school did you pack a lunch or buy a lunch? I usually bought my lunch in the cafeteria. We only lived one block from school, so we were allowed to go home for lunch if we wanted to. I still ate in the cafeteria 98% of the time. Your favorite thing to see on the lunch menu or inside your lunchbox back in the day? I loved the baked chili. It was delicious.
5. August is National Family Fun Month. Tell me something fun you’ve done this month. Nothing with the family since I had to cancel my trip to Brunswick, but I did have fun at dinner with my grandchildren, with ladies from church (Femaleship dinner) and I always enjoy going out to eat with friends. I visited my blogging friend, Barb, at the end of July and that spilled over to August. That was a very fun weekend and included Pamela and Lily Grace!
6. Insert your own random thought here. You may remember that my electric recliner broke several months ago and I was given insurance money to pick out two new chairs. They told me it would be September before they would be ready, but I got them yesterday!! Ahead of schedule. Here they are... not electric this time!
Peace & hugs!
Jesus loves us!!

Recliners look comfy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I don't think anything is mandated here either but there are a rising number of Communists who like the slave masks and forcing the jab. Scary, that.
ReplyDeleteLove the recliners! I wanna do that and not have the big sofa. It's kind of a waste of space but at least our sofa reclines like the chairs.
Keep praying that Christ will return soon. The world is in such a muddle.
Love & Prayers xx
Love the recliners. I just told hubby last night I need a new one really bad. Hoping to go out looking really soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your recliners so quickly. Maybe that is a sign that things are picking up. My SIL ordered a sofa and it will be six to eight months before she gets it. As for school lunches, our elementary lunch room ladies made THE BEST dinner rolls. I would like to have one with my coffee this morning.:)
ReplyDeleteThe new recliners look so inviting, Terri. Glad they arrived before schedule so you can enjoy them earlier than you hoped. And when it comes to reading the Bible, I prefer to have my hard copy, hands down!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Your new chairs look really nice. I know you are happy to finally have them. Enjoy your day. Stay cool! (stay inside! heehee)
ReplyDeleteWhen reading my Bible, I prefer the book too. I usually took my lunch because I was that picky eater kid, but honestly the lunches were amazing in elementary school. My grandmother worked in the lunchroom and drove a schoolbus. I had certain meals I loved. The recliners look great. We have two, but I am so short I usually choose the couch or the other chair.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love those chairs, smiles. Hoping you have a beautiful day, Terri.
ReplyDeleteAmen to #3! I, too, really like your new chairs. And that little end table with the storage ... is that new? Tom found a 'recliner repair' kit on Amazon and asked me to order; guess I won't be able to kick mine to the curb just yet. (LOL)
ReplyDeleteNo. Got that little table when we got the original chairs and loveseat. It was there when you visited.
DeleteYay on the chairs arriving early! We almost always brought our lunch to school.
ReplyDeleteYay on the chairs coming early! I ordered chairs back in May (I think??) and they were supposed to be here this month, now it's mid-September. I love my real Bible too and only use my kindle if I'm traveling and feel like it's too much to carry. Mine is big and heavy but I like it.
ReplyDeleteI have a big study Bible too, but have a smaller one to carry back and forth.
DeleteCongratulations on those 2 new beautiful chairs! May you have many many happy hours in them!
ReplyDeleteNice chairs - they look so comfy! We are waiting for chairs for our porch that were ordered in April...
ReplyDeleteThere was no cafeteria in my school. The moms made sloppy joes every other week that we could buy and we thought that was a great treat!
I like to read the Bible Old shool too.
It's so fun reading everyones' answers and I keep thinking "oh yah, I liked that for lunch too"
