Monday's Weekend Recap...

Another very quiet weekend for me.

Our small group met on zoom Thursday evening. First time in a while, but several folks at church were out with Covid and one of our couples is super careful so six of us zoomed for an hour.  Most of us are quite weary of zoom meetings - I sure am.  Our group of 14 people has dwindled and it is sad.  Feels like taking steps backward.  But, it is what it is...

On Friday, I went to Fred's Market (a buffet) with Shirley for dinner. Her birthday is this week so I treated her to dinner and gave her a birthday card. She will be 85 but is still driving and is sharp as can be.  We have been friends for 12-15 years.

Saturday allowed me to sleep in a bit... or I should say the cats allowed me to sleep in a bit. They are used to my new work schedule and think I should be up at 6:00 every morning.  I did some cleaning and baked some brownies.  Before I got the brownies out of the oven, Al and Theresa knocked on the door.  We had a nice visit and they helped eat a few of the warm brownies!  I also talked with my sister, Tammy, for a while so we got caught up.

Sunday school and church on Sunday and I got some laundry done.  My sister, Patti, and I talked for a while. She had her first infusion on Friday and said it went well. That's about it.  I did watch a couple of fun, old movies in the afternoon.  Overboard, with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, and then Grumpy Old Men came on with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon.  Both are lots of fun. Have you seen them?

Back to work today and tomorrow evening I am having a late lunch with my friend, Kalisa. We are going to try a new restaurant here in town called Mr. & Mrs. Crab.

Have a good week, all!
Peace & hugs!
Jesus loves you and me!

  2. Mr. and Mrs. Crab -- must be a seafood place. I hope it's good.

Even on the quiet weekends, you manage to find things to do, plus there are always the kitties to keep you company. Such faithful lil' companions to you!

Keeping you in prayer every day. Love and hugs.

  3. I hear you about taking one step forward and two steps back with this Covid/Delta stuff, Terri. We are once again in the same boat, even though we are vaccinated. So frustrating!
Do let us know how Mr. and Mrs. Crab's food is - gotta love that name!
    Prayers and blessings!

  4. I do understand what you mean by going backwards, Terri. I am so weary of this disease. I wish more people would get the vaccine. Hoping this new surge will inspire them to do so. We are off to Ga today and I will be spending Tues and Wed with mother to give Leta a break.

  5. Yes, I do like both these feel-good movies. Thanks for the update on Patti! Your friends' lunches are sure enviable. We're travelling back to Birmingham today (follow-up with Tom's surgeon) so I hope the potential for severe weather doesn't materialize and we can enjoy lunch 'out.'

  7. We're still meeting in person but our numbers have dwindled because of the aging congregation. They're dyin' off, but not from the Chinese Flu. Just life. Young people dont' seem interested in God or Church anymore. No wonder we're reapin' what we're sowin' with this horrible Administration.
    Blessings. xx

  8. I've seen and enjoyed both movies.
I'm not a fan of Zoom either, it's just not the same. Better than nothing though!

  10. I does feel like we're going backwards in terms of Covid. Ugh. We are still doing Sunday School on Zoom, but church in person due to spacing issues. Now we're back to masks in church. We are weary of it and if I have to mask I would almost prefer to watch the live stream. I loathe the masks. Glad you had a restful weekend.
