There wasn't a Tuesday 4 yesterday and Joyce has her grandsons home this week and her mind is everywhere with them (of course!!) so I picked one of my oldest Hodgepodge posts to enjoy again. I didn't change anything... (notice how appropriate the first question is!).

Hodgepodge Wednesday!!
Here are my answers to this week's "HodgePodge" questions:
1. Summertime is a season of reunions, weddings, and other family celebrations and gatherings...are any of the above on your calendar in the next two months? We already had our two-week road trip north, to celebrate graduations and birthdays. It was a great trip, full of family and friends and lots of love. Our son and DIL are here now, and our grandson will be visiting next week, so more love & fun ahead!
2. June is National Iced Tea Month...are you an iced tea drinker? If so, how do you like yours (sweet, flavored, etc)? I do love iced tea and will drink a whole gallon of it when I take the time to make it. I like mine sweetened with stevia (no sugar!). I most often just drink water, however.
3. When were you last nervous? Looking back, was the 'event' actually nerve-worthy? I was nervous last week, because of the biopsy (after a ‘spot’ was found during my mammogram). Waiting for the results is a pain. I have found that being nervous and worrying are two things that just waste energy and emotion. It is best if you can just take a deep breath and know that God is in control of every situation.
4. The bristle toothbrush was invented in China on June 26, 1498...not sure how that date was pinned down so precisely but, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being sick to your stomach and 1 being not at all, how nervous do you feel when you're headed to the dentist? Do you see your dentist twice a year? I do see the dentist twice a year. It has never made me apprehensive or nervous, so #1 for me. I like my dentist and the dental techs. Fortunately, my teeth are strong and my gums (so far) are staying healthy.
5. What's making news in your town this week? The George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial is the big news right now. It happened here in Central Florida. Here is the link to our newspaper’s front page, if you are really interested! http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage?tc=ar
6. Curtains, drapes, blinds...your window treatment of choice? Are there any bare windows in your house? Is that by choice or because you haven't gotten around to covering them? I have blinds and curtains on all the windows. No bare windows in our house. When the lights go on, ALL the blinds get closed!! I’m no pervert, but when I walk past, or drive by, a house with lights on and windows not covered, I look in….who doesn’t? I don’t want any peeping toms watching us!! LOL
7. Summertime is officially here (in the Northern hemisphere anyway)...what one song is a must-have on your summer playlist? Lovin Spoonful’s “Summer In The City” http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/l/lovin_spoonful/summer_in_the_city.html
8. Insert your own random thought here. Lots of stuff on my mind. Waiting for the test results from my biopsy. Waiting is the worst part. Enjoying the “kids”. One of the pups is jealous and tinkled twice on the floor last night. Five cats, two dogs, and five people in our little house….it’s a busy place right now!!

So not a lot has changed since 2013. Many of these would still be answered the same. The biopsy mentioned did come back pre-cancerous. I had surgery to remove the atypical papillary lesion. All is well now.

Wow, 2013! Great answers. I remember the George Zimmerman trial too. Another one of those crazy things that changed the way our country does things...So glad you were able to take care of the "lesion" and that all is well now. Praise God. I should go back to 2013 and see what I was doing. This was interesting and fun. Have a great day...and yes, worry is a time and energy stealer. I prefer to give my concerns and anxieties to the Lord and let Him handle them. I just have to remind myself that He is handling them and I don't have to keep taking it back...such is life.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
ReplyDeleteWell first of all I am glad that you had the lesion taken care of and I will agree that moment from the call to the hearing it is all good is the absolute worst. The things we do to ourselves over that is so hard. I agree with Pamela it is an energy stealer. I always thing of the saying/verse...oh ye, of little faith. Doggone it -it is hard.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the family..I know what it is like to have all the animals together:) a little wild but worth it to have all the family happy.
This was all 8 years ago but I will see the grandkids this coming Saturday!
DeleteAll medical tests make me nervous. Being an old nurse my mind goes to the Worst Case Scenario. But doing all the screenings is a good thing. I had my colonoscopy last week and all was good so glad to have that over and done with!! I had to smile about the curtains and blinds comment. My late MIL was a stickler for closing those curtains before turning on lamps.lol Marvin is the same way. Like you, I am gonna look into houses at night if the curtains are open. Have a great day Terri.
ReplyDeletePraise God for cutting edge (no pun intended) diagnostics! I'm the same way about open windows; in fact, I'm thinking of ordering a standing screen to put before our front door after dark.
ReplyDeleteGreat song choice!
Enjoyed your answers from 2013, Terri. I remember being nervous about a breast biopsy I had done years ago, but all was okay, and I'm so glad it was for you, too. And I never mind going to the dentist. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I'm a #1 with the Dentist too. Not nervous a bit. I guess it's 'cause I've had braces, twice, and one becomes accustomed to someone messing with their teeth after that. *lol*
ReplyDeleteMedical tests are not troublesome either. I always figure it'll be what it'll be and, with God's guidance, it will be dealt with. I'm sure all y'all feel the same way.
Have fun with the grandkids!
Blessings. xx
You had quite a houseful, back in the day! I had to do a double-take on that one (#8),'
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that cancer matter was easily dealt with and now, so many years later, you are doing so well.
We used to get lots of company. One time we had three different families visiting back-to-back over five weeks. Whew! Wouldn't change any of it, though!!
DeleteInteresting to go back in time. I'm thankful all turned out well after the biopsy.
ReplyDeleteALl great answers! I am not a fan of the dentist or the doctors period today. I worke din the medical field for 32 years. But I do what I have to do. I am glad you have good experiences at the dentist. It is funny how we worry when God knows what He wants but I understand. I had the same thing a few years ago. Waiting for these results. Glad all is well. Have a wonderful weekend.
