Thank you, Joyce, for this week's questions! Hodgepodgers can join in HERE!
Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 429
1. What's something you would say 'runs in your family? Besides cancer and arthritis? Lots of love!
2. A book, song, tv show, or movie you love that is centered around family. This one has a special memory attached that I always think about when I hear the song... my two sisters and I may have made a spectacle of ourselves at a local hangout back in our hometown one night a whole bunch of years ago. No... alcohol was not involved but fun was had!
3. Family matters, family ties, family tree, family man, family fortune, black sheep of the family, family values, one big happy family...choose a 'family phrase' that applies to your life currently and explain. Family matters... in that family DOES matter and is important and should be celebrated whenever possible. I loved seeing Lauren and Tristan last weekend. It had been too long.
4. Last thing you fixed for a big family dinner? If you're not the cook, the last thing you were served at a big family dinner? Gosh, do I really have to go back a few years to find lots of family around our table? It had to be Thanksgiving or Christmas and even then the whole BIG family was not together. I always cook and I always cook too much. Thanksgiving would have been turkey and everything that goes with it. Christmas would have been a ham and the usual sides for Christmas. I really miss the big family dinners of my younger years. Things just aren't the same now with everyone all spread out across the country (and the globe!).
5. What are three words you would use to describe your family. Loving. Thankful. Fun.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I will just say that I am so very happy that your (Joyce) Daughter1 and her sweet family are back in the states and that you are all having such a wonderful time with those two little ones! My heart is so full for you all!!
God is so good, all the time!

Wonderful answers! I bet you and your sisters were quite entertaining! Love a happy memory like that. How is your sister, btw? I hope she is doing well, and that you all will be able to get together again soon. I bet you are a good cook. I enjoy having all the family together, but I like for everyone to bring food so I don't have to do it all. And yes, it is getting harder and harder to gather together...schedules, covid fears, distance...everyone seems to have lost their energy for gathering. That makes me sad. But, anyway, I enjoyed your post and answers. Carry on! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteAn upbeat post in a time when the news is not. Thanks for your blogging contributions to give us pleasant things to read!
ReplyDeleteFamily is everything, Terri, I agree. And I had to smile when I imagined you and your sisters dancing to that song. It's a great one!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
How sweet. Thank you for sharing your answers.
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings. xx
When you have young kids, it's so easy to get irritated by family but you have to step back and realized how important it all is. I realized it this morning on the kids' first day of school. First year they're all in different schools!
ReplyDeleteBig family meals around the table are not as frequent at our house either, Terri. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I would have loved to see that performance! I bet it was so fun just like that song is.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I am so enjoying the pictures of Joyce and her family with the grands. I'm just so happy for them.
What a fun memory with your sisters! I used to love Sister Sledge, and now my imagination's running amok! Now that my granddaughters are busy living their own lives, 'family' is just me and my son. I cherish him being so close -- but don't think our numbers qualify for this Q-and-A, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Terri for all your good wishes and kind thoughts. Hope we get to meet in person one of these days soon. We Are Family makes me think of my sorority sisters...this was 'our song' and we also may have made a spectacle of ourselves while singing it at the top of our lungs : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite? That love runs in your family! That just made me smile and I know it's true. I'm going to remember that because it runs in mine too. :)
ReplyDeleteI have that same problem, cooking way too much for a crowd. Happy Hodgepodge to you!
ReplyDeleteI love that song too
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought of that song in a long time . . . and now I'm going to be singing it in my head all day :-)
