I've been writing so often about Joe's heart and asthma problems that I thought a little levity might be in order...
The Mechanic and The CardiologistA Lexus mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a LS460 when he spotted a well known cardiologist in his shop.
The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?"
The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working.
The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I opened its heart, took the valves out, repaired or replaced anything damaged, and then put everything back in, and when I finished, it worked just like new.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------So how is it that I make $48,000 a year and you make $1.7 M, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"The cardiologist paused, leaned over, and then whispered to the mechanic......."Try doing it with the engine running.”
And now for the April Challenge...
#10 A fruit you dislike and why.
I'm not that familiar with a lot of exotic fruits but the star fruit and the kiwi really have no taste and they both have a weird texture. They DO make fruit salads look pretty though. I'm not a big bananna fan either.

My friend, Diana (from the Museum), did a great job speaking to our Ladies' Coffee group yesterday. Several told me afterward that they learned some great new information. They would like her to come back in January when our northern residents are all here. Ellen couldn't come because she has a kidney stone (so she said on Facebook). Ouch. Today is my laundry day since it is wide open with nothing else to do (unless Joe needs to see the doctor again for his cough - I told him if it's not better, we are going back).
Thanks for dropping in! Peace & hugs!
UPDATE: I did take Joe back to the doctor, and he saw a doctor this time (not a nurse practitioner). We really like the doctor at the urgent care clinic we use. He said Joe's lungs are clear and he doesn't hear any wheezing. He thinks it's a bad case of sinusitis so we got prescriptions for a nasal spray, an antibiotic, and some GOOD cough medicine (codeine). The doc told me I could take some too so I can sleep through the coughing (grinning). (Last night was not a good night for either of us.) Joe is napping right now and it is quiet!! What a blessing after nearly non-stop coughing. No exaggeration - non-stop coughing. It has been horrible. Bless him!

A good laugh is always welcome and needed. Sure hope Joe is better and doesnt have to go back to the doctor. I am sure the ladies learned a lot from the lady from the Museum. I am not a banana lover either! Have a great day doing laundry....lol
ReplyDeletelol at the funny memes.
ReplyDeleteI love bananas but only when they are still firm and have some green on them. I don't like them when they are ripe with black spots all over them.
Sorry to hear Joe is still coughing. Hope he feels better.
Have a great day!
Praying for Joe and hoping all is going to be just fine. Loved your jokes...good one about the cardiologist...and fruits...I've been thinking I need to eat more fruit...but it's expensive! I try to eat an apple a day..bananas when they aren't too ripe on peanut butter...when they get too ripe they become banana nut bread! I wonder if that counts for a fruit? LOL. Have a blessed day. Is it raining there? We had rain ALL day yesterday and all night. Plus lightning and thunder ...but I'm not complaining...we sure need it.
ReplyDeleteDay three of rain, Pam. We need it but it is getting old. We even had thunder and lightening today and someone said they saw hail.
DeleteLove the cardiologist joke!!lol Have a good day Terri. I treasure the days when I can just stay home and piddle around. Even if it includes laundry.lol
ReplyDeleteGREAT jokes!!! Love them. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePrayers continued for Mr. Joe...and his wonderful wife! And, you know how much I love humor!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI loved the doctor and mechanic story, so funny and yet so true!!
ReplyDeleteThe test one made me laugh out loud... thats exactly how it is!!!
ReplyDeleteThat auto mechanic scenario is so funny! I've never tasted a kiwi (or star), but yes ... they add something to a presentation. Funny, bananas are about the only fruit I'll eat (on purpose). How boring Life would be if we all liked the same things!
ReplyDeleteI had to giggle at the cardiologist joke. I saw my cardiologist today. I should send him this joke. :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that Joe is having a time with his cough. I feel sorry because I know something about that. I coughed for three months day and night. (August, Sept. and October.) Then my doctor sent me to a pulmonary doctor for test. I have COPD which for me is mild asthma. They gave me Kroger Allergy Relief pills and it cured it right away. I was so thankful to be relieved from coughing. I pray that he find an answer real soon.
I like your jokes today! A laugh is always good medicine.
ReplyDeleteI hope the meds help Joe and you both start getting some sleep!
Oh bless you both!! Non-stop coughing is just horrible, both for the cougher and the listener. I hope you both took some of that codeine and are getting a good night's sleep! Thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeleteIs wine a fruit?
ReplyDeletePraying for good health for you and your husband.
God bless.
The arrow-thru-the-head was my fav of the funnies you posted. We've been there on that one.
ReplyDeleteI hope Joe truly begins to feel better, and as a result, you, too! Hugs to you both!
I really like the joke. Glad to hear Joe has something to help with the cough and I hope you both will be sleeping better very soon. Hugs and blessings
