Weekend Recap on Monday... and April Challenge Catch-up
There isn't much to recap. I want to thank everyone for the prayers! I'm sure they helped me turn the corner overnight. The defining point was that "something" told me to try hot steam. This was around 2:00 a.m. I got up and started a pot boiling and added some Hawaiian Salt to the water. It is a special pink salt that has a very distinct flavor. Don't ask me why. I was just doing what I needed to do. With a towel draped over my head, I breathed in that hot steam and started praying.
I'll leave out the description, but just know that everything opened up and I got rid of some nasty stuff. I waited about 30 minutes and did it again. The glands have gone down in size and I am able to drink and take my medicine. Praise God!! I am still feeling punky, but am so happy that I can hydrate and will try eating a little later.
Joe is MUCH better with his cold, and we both know that I got this from him. So it has been two weeks of nasty stuff around our house, but we are looking forward to being done with the colds and moving on to get Joe's heart valve taken care of. The surgical consult is Wednesday. Please continue the prayers!!
Vinny has been my 'nurse' all weekend...
I almost forgot to catch up on the APRIL CHALLENGE!
#15 Three pet peeves
--People who are late...
--An "Open Here" on a box that doesn't work
--Waiting more than 10-15 minutes for appointments or a table in a restaurant
#16 Bullet your entire day...
*Blow nose
*Cough
*Try to sleep
*Choke on water
*Repeat first three
Thanks for checking in! Thanks again for all the prayers! Peace & hugs.

PRAISING GOD with you and everyone else. So thankful you are getting better and it was with a home remedy rather than more medicine. Also thankful you did not end up in the hospital!
ReplyDeleteSalt is an amazing creation and so beneficial in healing.
So glad you are on the mend, Terri! Praying for continued healing for both you and Joe.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Color me, SO relieved to read your update! I've seen that pink salt, but never considered its medicinal - er, holistic -properties.
ReplyDeleteYour #1 pet peeve is mine, as well.
Bless your heart.
ReplyDeleteA good steam is always good to open up those clogged up parts in your head! Hoping the germs are gone & you & Joe have no sickies the rest of the Spring - & Summer... & just the rest of the year ;)
Prayers for your quick recovery.... I had this nasty stuff... :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are well now! Hope for us!! :)
DeleteSo glad you are feeling better Terri. I was worried about you!!
ReplyDeleteYou were very wise to try the hot steam, and so glad it worked for you. Now Joe is better, so we have got to get you better too. Take care of you, and prayers for both.
ReplyDeleteIck, keep that stuff down there, lol. Glad you both are turning the corner, smiles.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are improving! Continued prayers for you both and for a good consult on Wed!
ReplyDeleteStill praying for you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLate people are one of my pet peeves too. My hubby is always late. Drives me nuts!
This is the 4th time I've tried to leave a comment. Our oldest grandson changed everything on Google+ to his account and it was like it had taken preference over mine. ARGH!!! If I didn't love that boy....LOL!!! Anyway....I'm so glad that you listened to that "still small voice" and did the steam treatment. HOPEfully, both of you are on the mend with your colds and can go ahead and get Mr. Joe's heart taken care of. Prayers for both of you, sweet Friend.
ReplyDeleteHope you are still feeling better. Winter and illnesses just seem to be hanging around forever this year.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I guess I've missed some things again. I'm sorry you've been sick...met too. I haven't had the energy to blog about it. Maybe tomorrow. Sometimes we can be our own best nurses, we just instinctively know what needs to be done to get relief. God bless you and I pray you continue to improve.
ReplyDeleteI missed this yesterday, but was so glad to see today that you are doing so much better. Continued prayers. Praise the Lord for good ole steam therapy!
