The Hodgepodge is Flying....

Joyce is back from her travels and that means we have a Hodgepodge this week!!  Join in the fun HERE and then link up with all of us Hodgepodgers!!  Thank you, Joyce!

1. Tell us about a time you felt like you were 'flying by the seat of your pants'.  Oh my, too many times to even single one out!  I actually think it's the best way to learn!  Do or die!!  Jump in and learn to swim (so to speak).

2.  When or where would you most like to be 'a fly on the wall'?  Again, I can think of lots of times it would have been nice to hear what people were saying about 'whatever'.....

3. 'Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.'-Henry David Thoreau

Would you agree?  Yes.  Why or why not?  Good things come to those who wait... it's not an uncommon thread.  Isaiah 40:31   but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

4. Share a favorite movie, book, or song with flying in it's title, lyrics, or theme somewhere.  Not necessarily a favorite, but it's the first one that came to mind. Fly Me To The Moon.....

5. What is one task or chore you tend to do 'on the fly'? Is this something that really needs to be done another way?  Picking up cat hair clumps instead of vacuuming the rugs.  I seem to do this every time I walk through a room at home. With three cats and two that shed incessantly, there is always a cat-hair-tumbleweed blowing through or stuck on a rug.

6. What was happening the last time you thought to yourself or said aloud, 'Wow, time flies when you're having fun', and you meant it.  At the end of every weekend!  LOL  Mondays come around much too fast.  Come on August 1st!

7. This Thursday is National Garlic Day. Will you add garlic to your menu on Thursday?  I have no idea what I'll have for dinner tomorrow, but there is always garlic in the 'fridge so it's possible.  Do you like garlic?  Yes, I do. What's your favorite dish made with garlic?  I can eat most any pasta with garlic and butter as the only sauce.  Throw in some shrimp and I'm in heaven!

. Insert your own random thought here.  I am anxious to get home tonight and see our new entrance to the house!  It is so awkward to go in and out with the door and steps configured as they are.  The new landing and double steps will make a huge difference!! Watch for photos on Friday!!

Thanks for your visit today! Wishing you a blessed Wednesday!  Peace & hugs!!

  5. A new entry is exciting. I'll look forward to seeing pictures. I love shrimp/garlic/pasta too. Have you ever tried the Pioneer Woman's Lemon Garlic shrimp. You bake it in the oven and sop up the juices with bread-it's so good!!

  6. So cat hair clumps tumbleweed are what I have to look forward to as Tommy and Smokey get older?? I thought I was done with that. LOL Enjoy your new steps. All these things make such a difference, don't they! I thought of that same Frank Sinatra song. Last week I watched High Society with him, Bing Crosby, and Grace Kelly. What a FUN movie that is! Have a great rest to your week. I feel like I should be counting off the days on the calendar toward August 1. LOL

  8. I know all about those cat hair clumps! Our cats stay on our front porch, and I'm forever picking up clumps from the two long-haired ones.
I'm excited to see your new entryway. It's always fun to do a little remodel!
August 1, huh? It's right around the corner. You'll LOVE retirement, I guarantee it :)

  11. Hmmmm. Well, with Trudy gone, I have consider the pros and cons of having another dog, and also the possibilities of having a cat. I think I don't like the part about shedding. Look forward to seeing what you do with your entry. Come on August 1! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Do you have plans for that first week?

    1. No plans other than not setting the alarm clock for at least a week! We really should plan to do something special. Maybe just a couple of days at the beach....

  12. We don't eat that much pasta, but recently I was really craving pasta with butter and garlic. Garlic is soooo wonderful isn't it? I even sprinkle it (powder) on my popcorn.

  13. Pet hair is the reason I went with a 'non-shedder' this time around. It's not that Tucker never sheds, actually, but it's so slight you don't even notice it. I remember how quickly weekends came and went. But it won't matter soon for you! Fly Me To The Moon is one of my favorites but I really wanted to make my brother laugh today. :) Have a great rest of the week!
