Thank goodness it's FRIDAY and that also means it is Friday Foto Friends day with Deb, over at Breathing In Grace. Join us in this link-up!!
Joe has been supervising the work on our new entrance! I'm SO excited to have this done, even though we don't have the railings yet, I consider it done. The railings will come in a week or so.
Our entrance has been not very attractive or inviting and it was extremely hard to get up the steps and get through the doors, especially with groceries or packages. Here is what our front door looked like.
Picture this... step up on the first step and open the storm door, then step up on the second step while holding the storm door open with your elbow. Then you step up on the top step and put the key in to open the wooden door. Not real safe anytime, but not at all with bad knees.
Maceo was recommended to us by the managers here. He has done work in Mas Verde and we were pleased with what we saw, out and about.
And this is the finished entrance, without the railings. I'll have to post another picture when we get the railings installed.
It makes that section of our carport a little more narrow, but we can still pull a car up and open the doors. It's going to be so much better!
So that's our most recent project, almost done. Thanks for peeking in!! Happy Friday! Peace & hugs.

Oh I like it...smiles. Thanks for sharing Terri, have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteSOOO loving your steps. Funny, I have a similar picture today made out of pallets. But yours is going to be super sturdy & last for YEARS
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice. Having steps on both sides will be so convenient.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
So much more safe and convenient---enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a change! Looks much safer and easier to navigate when going into your home.
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea to do that!!! I like that you have steps on either side, too - - - will save you steps by not having to walk to only one side. At this stage in life - - or any stage but this one especially - - safer is the best and only option as well as convenience.
ReplyDeleteTeri, that looks nice and a whole lot safer. Getting older and being in retirement is great, but some of the cautions there are "be careful not to fall!" You and Joe are smart to be preventative.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great change. Love it!
ReplyDeleteA wise move, and looks to be excellent workmanship as well as attractive. Falls are what do many of us in, good for you.
ReplyDeleteI think that is great!!! Makes so much more sense, and it is pretty too!! I know you will be glad you did this as time goes by!! I'm so happy you are settling in and are enjoying your new home so much. I love new adventures...and even watching others have their own new adventures is fun for me! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThat's looking so nice, and, yes lots safer. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness what an improvement and looks so good! So much safer too. We have to figure out something for our steps down to the basement apartment. Have a good weekend. So nice to have a project done, isn't it!

ReplyDeleteLooks really nice.
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate to find Maceo ... right there in your own 'back yard'! That enhancement must feel so comforting!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so nice and is much more user friendly!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what a relatively small change does for your peace of mind and a little jazzing up! I can see why you'd be excited.
ReplyDeleteThe new steps/porch is so much better, I like the steps on both sides!!
