Tuesday Tidbit....
Nothing is ever easy, and if it is you should be afraid. God opens a door when another one closes and we just need to trust that we are listening to Him and are traveling the path He sets before us.
We made an offer and put down a deposit on the house we fell in love with. It is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures.
When we got home, our buyer's realtor called to say they were backing out because they don't want to put on a new roof.
Deflated. I also felt betrayed because they were so excited about the house and all of the inspections came back with no problems. We have begun to pack and have started the mental processes to make the move.
So....we decided to offer to go 50/50 with them and get the roof done before the closing. We're waiting to hear back about that. If it falls through, we just have to understand this wasn't meant to be.
Our only hurry was because of them making the offer. We originally were thinking the move would be later in the spring. Houses are usually only on the market for a few months these days. Ours is a nice one. It will sell, and we will raise the price to cover the roof. Everyone told us we sold too low anyway (and I think we did).
It is what it is. God's will be done and in His time. Prayers appreciated! We have two weeks to back out on the house we offered on. Sigh. If we pull out, we'll be doing to the seller what our buyers did to us. Another sigh. We really are okay. Disappointed but okay. Keeping the faith.
Thanks for your visit! Thanks for your prayers. Peace & hugs!

Praying for a positive outcome my friend. I completely understand why you were feeling deflated and a bit betrayed. I hope the 50/59 works out for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm awake in the wee hours of the morning and have just read your blog post. What a disappointment. I will pray now for you and this entire situation. We've been in similar circumstances in the past. Your faith in God will get you through however this all turns out.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fair offer Terri, and as you said, if they do not take it, someone else will. Prayers going up!!
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully they will take your 50/50 offer. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteI have Faith, Terri, that all will work out...your right, houses never last for long when their on the market or buying...keeping you in prayer, it will be ok, Terri.
ReplyDeleteSince you love the house you found, I am praying you can figure a way to keep it. Also, with the roof - - - I understand people wanting move-in ready - - - however, I would like the option to put on the roof I wanted so it would be something (material/color) I liked.
ReplyDeleteOh, those stinkers!!! :(
ReplyDeletePraying that the buyers will come to their senses and accept your 50/50.
Oh man... this all stresses me out. Moving is so intense.
ReplyDeleteHoping it all works out for everyone. Thats the thing - one move effects another - so when one pulls out, it effects everyone. Such a domino effect.
Oh Terri, that's so disappointing. I hope they accept your counter offer! But, it's like you said, God has this under control, when He shuts one door He always has a better door for you to enter. I am excited about your new home, that is really good news. Everything is going to work out just fine!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so disappointing, but you are right about it all being in God's control. I am sure He will work things in His time and it will all be for the best.
ReplyDeleteBuying and selling is so stressful. Just keep packing and praying. God will guide. Prayers from us too. God bless. ~:)
ReplyDeleteSo disappointing, but it must not have been the 'one'. The very same thing has happened to Jennifer....but I am trusting for both of you, that it will work out in time, and would go ahead and be packing. You can leave out a change of clothes, and eat out of paper plates! lol Sending prayers and love your way.
ReplyDeleteTerri, I hope that it all works out. Hopefully your buyers will accept the 50/50 plan.
ReplyDeleteI've never had to go through anything like that but I understand it can be very frustrating. I haven't yet discovered why you're moving. I hope things smooth out for you soon.
ReplyDeleteJulie, we are downsizing from our (moderate) home that has a pool and a big yard. We need to lower expenses and get something more manageable so I can retire this summer!! :)
DeleteUgh. I'm so sorry. Brings back memories of similar experiences we've had. I hope your buyers will take your counter offer.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...Praying for the Romans 8:28 promise to come shining through this..."And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." God is working out HIS perfect plan in this, so hang in there and trust Him.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Terri, I am so sorry that your buyers backed out. Trusting that God will give you and your husband peace in everything. I love it that you are continuing to pack things up though! Stepping out in faith and showing others that you are trusting Him. I will be praying.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Terri! I can see you have a good attitude though in the middle of the letdown. Praying that it works out, and that if it doesn't God gives clear direction.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is feeling your disappointment. Prayers for you, sweet Lady. It's going to all work out just like God wants. I know you well enough to know you have enormous faith that's going to happen.
