Saturday:9 Neon Lights

Neon Lights

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Thanks to Helena at Quick Sticky Bits for flagging this.

Saturday 9: Neon Lights (2013)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Think of a neon sign you pass by often. What does it say?  I pass the red neon sign in front of Krispy Kreme Donuts that indicates the donuts are HOT.  It is always on because they just heat them up in the local franchise. They are not baked there, and are just not as good as the really fresh ones.

2) In the video for this song, Demi Lovato spends a great deal of time in the water. When is the last time you swam?  October. We have a pool, and it got too cold after October.  It is just about warm enough to get in again, now.

3) The song encourages us to "look up at the sky." OK, we will. How does the sky look where you are today?  White fluffy clouds in a blue sky with lots of sunshine.  This IS Florida.

4) Demi is a contributing editor for Seventeen magazine. When she was in junior high school, Crazy Sam eagerly awaited each new issue of Seventeen. When you were younger, what magazine(s) did you read regularly?  I liked Seventeen, too, but was not really into magazines that much.  Whenever I could get my hands on a "True Story" magazine, I would read it cover to cover!!  Does anyone else remember "True Story"?

5) Demi is an investor in the company that makes Texas Tea, a bottled beverage available at Whole Foods. Do you have any tea in your kitchen right now?  Earl Gray, English Breakfast and Luzianne.

6) Demi is currently on tour, performing halfway around the world in Australia and New Zealand. Have you ever had a job that required travel?  No, and for that I am thankful. I don't like flying that much.

7) Demi had a recurring role on the show Glee. That show's series finale aired last month. Is there a show that's no longer on that you miss?  Lot's of them.  Glee is not one.  I miss Mash, Sonny & Cher, Ed Sullivan, Laugh-In, the original Saturday Night Live cast, and so many more...

8) Fast-growing fast food chain Chipotle reports that their top sellers include a burrito bowl with steak or chicken, salad with chili-corn salsa, and a soft taco. Which of these would you order?  We have a Chipotle in Lakeland and have gone there once. We weren't real impressed.  I think I had the burrito bowl with chicken. It was okay but didn't make me want to go back.

9) What beverage would you like to enjoy with your burrito bowl, taco or salad?  I usually just get water with no lemon, but I also enjoy sweet tea now and then.

Thanks for reading my Saturday:9!!  I am thrilled to put this past week away and have a quieter weekend.  I think we will go to the Farmer's Market shortly.  Have a good Saturday!! Peace, love & hugs!

  1. I had forgotten about the Sat. fun post. No Chipotle here, I think Buffalo or Rochester has one. Great answers--especially #3. Blessings

  2. I know who this girl is, but never followed her on anything or listened to her music. She is the younger generation. Our sky is grey and it is foggy this morning. No traveling for a job for me either, and I wont fly unless it is for an emergency. Never heard of Chipotle so dont guess we have one here either. Enjoy your day without commitments.

  3. I can see Walmart's neon sign from our house. Never been to Chilpotle. Never had a traveling job either. When we go out I usually get a Coke or Pepsi. I don't drink them at home anymore unless I get a migraine. The caffeine + sugar seems to help my migraines. At home I drink tea or water. Have a great weekend!

  4. We loved the same TV shows and True Story was my magazine of choice too. We have had mostly sunny blue Mediterranean skies today. The wind is still blowing hard though, so I'm glad I dressed for the weather when I went out earlier. Oh, no! A big cloud has just rolled in! Hope you're having a good day.

  5. To shows that are no longer on that I miss I would add The Red Skelton Show. I think I like this "Saturday 9" thing. Enjoy your weekend! BTW, SWMBO's surgery went well and she is now recuperating at home, confined to the couch through the weekend. Thanks for your prayers.

  6. Hi Terri, When we drive about an hour to the dentist, we pass a Krispy Kreme where they bake the doughnuts...so good. We are getting a Chipolte and a Hobby Lobby in the fall of the year. I've never eaten at Chipolte. I do love sweet tea with lemon when I splurge!!! Mostly it's water for me. I love the Earl Grey tea too in winter. I do remember True Story and I loved Red Skelton Show. Like you, I don't enjoy flying. In fact, I don't like to spend the night away from home! Hope you get some goodies at the farmer's market.

  7. I remember reading Rolling Stone, but I really enjoyed reading all the True Stories, too. Mad Magazine, and Archie comics if those count. I miss Jolly Rogers doughnuts in OH where they made their doughnuts fresh all day long. As far as TV shows that I miss ... gotta say, I really miss Longmire and The Bridge. dagnabit. I did have a job that took me away. I loved being in the "field" and the work I was doing, but hated leaving my little ones behind....I really missed my family greatly during those times. I feel the same way about Chipotle. Meh. Give me a good Gyro instead :) Have a great weekend, Dear Friend. Mwah!
