Throwback Thursday....

Joe and I are getting ready to travel to New Orleans, next month, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.  Back in 2007 about this time of year, we were getting ready to go to Italy for what we call our "trip of a lifetime".  Unless we win the lottery, we won't ever go again - as much as we might like to!  It picked a few photos to share for Throwback Thursday....

We flew into Venice, and were there for three days. We then traveled by bus (with our group) down to Florence, where we spent three days. From Florence, again by bus, we also visited San Gimignano, Sienna, Orvieto, Sienna and then on to Rome for another three days. It was wonderful.

Us, in the bell tower of St. Mark's Square, in Venice.

In Florence, we saw Michelangelo's David. Breathtakingly beautiful.

In Rome, we tossed coins into the Trevi Fountain.

I have hundreds of photos, but my camera was terrible for taking photos inside buildings, with no flash.  Most places would not allow flash photography inside, so I have many disappointing pictures. Seems like I should go again, just to get better photos!!  :)

New Orleans will be lots of fun, though it isn't Italy.  We are really looking forward to it.  Thanks for stopping by!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Those were the days when we bought postcards because our photos weren't that good. I have very few good photos from my trip to Italy, that is the ones that I know where they are.

  2. Wow---bet your Italy trip was a 'trip of a lifetime'...BUT--you will enjoy New Orleans too. I lived there for about 4-5 yrs in the '80's... We loved it there --although there was/is a lot of crime. IF you have questions, just ask. I also have another blog friend who just returned home from a vacation there. I can put you in contact with her if interested....

    Hugs,
    Betsy
