1. Speaking of April 15th...what's the most 'taxing' thing you've done recently?
Work has been extremely taxing these past few days. Budget time, Quarterly Reports time, and March financials due.....
2. When did you last take a taxi somewhere and where was that somewhere?
2. When did you last take a taxi somewhere and where was that somewhere?
The last taxi we took was in Italy, in 2007, and it was to go back to our hotel after a long day in Vatican City.
3. What's something you can do today that you couldn't do a year ago?
3. What's something you can do today that you couldn't do a year ago?
I had to ask Joe because I couldn't' think of anything. He laughed and said I can bake Easter Bread. (Last year's did not turn out very good, but this year's did.)
4. How often is chicken (in some form or fashion) on your menu at home? Which of the following would you most like to see on your table tonight...a chicken salad sandwich, your mom's fried chicken, a Chick-fil-A meal, Cracker Barrel's chicken n' dumplings, a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings, or 'hold the chicken, I'm a vegetarian'...?

I make chicken something a couple of times a month. Joe likes Italian chicken cutlets, so that is usually how I prepare it. I love getting a rotisserie chicken from Sam's or Publix, though. What I really miss is my Granny Kelly's fried chicken. Oh my goodness..... (We eat more beef and pork than chicken.)
5. What was your favorite television program when you were a kid? What characters do you remember the most?
5. What was your favorite television program when you were a kid? What characters do you remember the most?
I remember loving the Mickey Mouse Club, with Annette Funicello. I also liked watching Truth or Consequences, Lawrence Welk (with the Lennon Sisters), and Art Linkletter (kids say the darndest things). I'm old!! LOL Check out the links to YouTube videos if you have time!!
6. What was the last piece of 'art' you made?
6. What was the last piece of 'art' you made?
It's been about a year since I made a serious piece of art, but I also fiddle with jewelry now and then, and I doodle at meetings!
7. What frustrates you most about the Internet?
7. What frustrates you most about the Internet?
The internet doesn't frustrate me as much as a slow computer, or any computer glitch. Hackers and people out to do bad things and commit crimes are beyond frustrating, but that's people, not the internet.

I haven't mentioned Bruce in awhile. I spoke with my sister, Tammy, over the weekend. She said things are good and Bruce is making progress at home, but slowly. She gets him out to the grocery and they went out to find plants for the garden. Bruce helped her get seedlings planted by drilling holes in the pots. He keeps his sense of humor and understands what has happened to him and that he is not always understood. He gets around well with his walker and works well with the therapist and homecare nurse. His sister is coming (from somewhere out west) this weekend. Joe and I are planning a trip up toward the end of May.
Thanks for checking in on my Wednesday Hodgepodge! I appreciate your time and your comments! Peace & love!!
Good Morning, Hope you rested well and feel better today. Thanks for the update on Bruce. Your mention of the tv shows brings back fond memories. My sis had a date one night (late 60's) and begged the rest of us NOT to watch Lawrence Welk!!! When the boy showed up, he asked "You all are not watching LW??" lol
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! I am so happy to read good news concerning Bruce. Giggling over #6. Have a good day, I am off to classes soon. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for the good report. I never really watched Lawrence Welk, but we did like Truth or Consequences and Art Linkletter both. It's fun reading the answers to this question. I've already been reminded of quite a few shows I'd forgotten about. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYay for the Easter bread that turned out good!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I had bread as my yearly accomplishment too! I have to say that some of my best art is made during mandatory work meetings :)
ReplyDeleteFarin
I'm glad to hear Bruce continues to do better.
ReplyDeleteI love chicken but my hubby doesn't so I only make it when it is just me and my son. Although hubby will eat my chicken + dumplings but he picks out the chicken lol
Have a great day!
Tax time is always taxing! Nuf said...lol It is so good to hear Bruce is doing well. It is a slow process in one way, but just think how far he has come. I have no idea when I last took a taxi or even if I ever have. I love chicken cooked any way but Jim doesnt like it at all, so we rarely have it. I get some now and then if I visit someone and they have prepared it. I think I liked some of the same tv shows from by-gone days that you did. Hope all goes as it should today, taxes, etc.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the positive update on Bruce :)
ReplyDeleteI hope things slow down at work, soon...
Now, those Italian Chicken Cutlets sound VERY tasty....I'm curious.
ReplyDeleteAnni, there is no recipe. I take boneless breasts and cut them into thinner slices (lengthwise) very carefully! Dip in egg, then Italian Bread Crumbs and fry them in a healthy oil. It doesn't take long for them to brown and cook through. You can put Parmesan cheese into the bread crumbs, if you like that, and I usually use a little more garlic seasoning. They go well with pasta, or just mashed potatoes and a veggie.
DeleteSo glad to hear Bruce is continuing to improve.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on Bruce. Their lives have been forced to face a change but it sounds like they are tackling it with faith and a positive attitude. Loved all your replies -- and yes! we both like the Lennon Sisters!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you're enjoying my A to Z walk down memory lane. SWMBO came through her surgery fine. She is now home resting on the couch with her leg elevated and an iced water filled thing-a-majig on her knee. Thank you for your good wishes and prayers on her behalf.
ReplyDeleteI pray that Bruce continues his progress.
I much rather prefer chicken to beef, which I eat very little of. I've made my own chicken and dumplings before and have a chicken casserole recipe that I really like. I don't know if this counts as being creative, but I make my own laundry detergent and also body butter and hair conditioner and have been thinking of making my own shower gel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on Bruce. I'm sure he will soon be speaking more clearly.
Good to hear the progress report on Bruce. The whole situation must be so hard on Tammy. We just never know when life might take an abrupt turn.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful there are people like you to work with finances. It would definitely not be me. Have a wonderful spring day, Terri.
Great news about Bruce! We love rotisserie chicken, too...makes for an easy meal!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Wednesday Hodgepodge - so happy to find a group of bloggers in my age bracket! The "favorite television show as a kid" was the giveaway. Italian Chicken Cutlets sound delicious and you took me right back to my Florida days when you mentioned Publix. We lived in Jacksonville from 1995-1999.
ReplyDeleteI make chicken a lot too. And how nice to take a taxi in Italy. Hope your taxes at work are done! Have a good night. sandie
