It has been a long week, and I am happy Friday is here!! Let's see if I can find five things to write about.
- Tomorrow is my sister-in-law's birthday! Joe's older brother is married to Joan and she is the birthday girl. They live in Maryland, and I'm sure the kids and grandkids will be helping her celebrate this weekend. Love them all - a great family.
- Tomorrow is also an old friend's birthday. Ruby delivered internal mail to offices when I worked for the American Red Cross, in Washington D.C. That was 1982 to 1988. When she retired, she wanted to stay in touch and asked for my address, so we started corresponding and have continued with Christmas, birthday and St. Patrick's Day cards (she is Irish too). She even came down for a visit after we moved to Florida. Now she is in assisted living, up in northern Maryland, where her family lives near. I am ashamed that I don't know how old she is, but for some reason a connection was made all those years ago, and she has been a bright shining star in my life and I look forward to hearing from her each holiday and birthday.
- If you watch Grey's Anatomy, were you as sad as I was with the ending last night? I don't want to say too much in case someone taped it to watch later, but boohoo!
- Lakeland has an annual event called Sun'nFun. It is the second largest fly-in in the USA. Our town is full of airplane enthusiasts. It's a huge event that brings a good bit of money to Lakeland, just when the snowbirds and spring training fans go home. Our restaurants and hotels are full. Good for the economy, but it does keep locals home and out of the restaurants and shops. Crazy crowded. Planes fly over all day long, and it does get a little noisy.
- We have started watching a series called TURN from AMC (though we are catching up on Netflix). We are still in season one but have found it to be quite interesting. It's about spies during the Revolutionary War. Have you seen it?
We have a weekend with no plans again, and are going to enjoy it. May is coming fast and we will be busy most weekends going forward. Wishing you a good weekend! Peace, love & hugs.

I've been tempted to buy a book about the spies of President Washington during the revolution. Now I just may have to since you 'talked' about the program.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthdays to your sister-in-law and friend. I saw something about Grey's Anatomy on facebook, but I haven't watched it for years and am unfamiliar with most of the characters. Have a good Friday.
ReplyDeleteNever have watched Grey's Anatomy, but if you enjoyed, sorry it is gone. Your town with be busy for sure with all the activities. Happy Birthday to all. Have a nice weekend Terri..
ReplyDeleteGoing to be a busy time for your town. Sometimes if you live there you like to see it come to an end real quick like.Never really got into Greys Anatomy. We almost started watching Turn but we were taping too many other things at the same time. I love history as long as it is portrayed correctly and they haven't changed what really happened. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Terri. I, too, used to watch Gray's, but gave it up a few years ago. Sorry they let McDreamy go, but I can see how it would be a good way to review the life of the whole series. I've missed reading your posts this week, and will be checking the older ones after this post. My computer has been attacked, and its taken this long to get it back. Have a great weekend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Terri! I am back to blogging after taking a few months away to finish closing the house/moving. It is so nice to see your blog again! I never watched Grey's Anatomy. My husband enjoys the TURN show. I believe season 2 just started.
ReplyDeleteThe fly-in noise and crowded restaurants would keep me home too! lol
ReplyDeleteWe rarely do much on weekend, mainly due to traffic. We are "slow" and do better getting out Mon. thru Fri! I hope you can get some rest and relaxation this weekend. Take care.
