Weekend winding down....

I sure wish I had another day off coming, but I have no complaints about how great our weekend event went at the Museum.  Well, I could complain about the rain, but since it didn't seem to damper anyone's spirits, I'll just say that we had rain all day long for our Art Crawl, but all but one artist set up, and the people came.  We don't have an actual count for the outdoor event, but there were over 750 people who visited the Museum, and our gift shop had another banner day.  Only two artists started breaking down early - everyone else stayed until 4:00.

The local bands who came to play did great, the two food trucks were busy and the restaurant that sold sliders and hotdogs did a great business, too. We (staff) had a blast.  My jeans were soaked from the bottoms to my knees and my big umbrella got a good workout.  The newspaper gave us two big photos on the front page of today's local section.

It was a great first time for this event, and we know next year will be bigger and better (and hopefully sunnier!).  I took a few photos, posted below. Our staff photographer got lots of good ones that I can share from work, tomorrow.

The view from my office window.

 The ice cream truck.

The view from the Museum's tent, which is where I was from 8:30 - 4:00.

Today, cleaning and laundry. We also had to run over to Helen's house to help them get their WiFi set up. Got the call for help around 3:30.  All done.

Back to work tomorrow. Board meeting day tommorow, two final interviews for our Education Dept. vacancy later this week, and sliding into shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. We did get the turkey, though. Publix brand for 59 cents a pound. I got one that is just under 15 pounds. Plenty for five of us, with leftovers.

Wishing you a good week. I'm catching up on blogs, though not always leaving a comment. Thank you for stopping by!! Peace, love & hugs.

  4. It sounds like the art crawl went really well for it's first year! We have a couple local art crawls in warehouse buildings that have been converted to artist lofts. They are so fun and interesting to see the varied works of the artists. Have a fabulous week!

  5. Sure looks our weather here, only it's a lot colder. I'm glad the rain didn't scare people off. I imagine a lot of them would have been looking for Christmas presents. Yes, hopefully next year you'll have more participating artists, more visitors and better weather.
