Sunday Evening....
Our little dinner party last night was very nice. Our friends seemed to enjoy the food and stayed until after 9:00, so the conversation was good too. Joe and Don hadn't met before, but they seemed to enjoy each other's company. As they were leaving, Shirley was talking about having us over. Our friendship, to date, had been in our 'girls' lunch bunch' circle, so this was venturing into a different level of friendship for us. I'm glad it went so well!
Our son called us from Kuwait this afternoon! It was great talking with him. He is homesick already, but still has a long stretch ahead.
I've been catching up on home bookkeeping today....so far behind. Sigh. Also (of course) doing our laundry. And that's about all I have for you today! The weather turned too warm to have the doors open, today, so the AC is back on. I think we're supposed to have a cool front coming through this week, so I'll look forward to that!

It's great that your son called. My heart aches having one of mine living just an hour away, I'm thankful he's not as far away as yours :( (my other two children live within shouting distance)

ReplyDeleteThose calls with your son in Kuwait are precious, I know. My nephew is in the Army and when he is serving overseas, the call is the highlight of their week!
