The weekend surely did go fast! Unfortunately, tomorrow (Columbus Day) is not a holiday for me. We get two days at Thanksgiving instead, so I don't mind. A three-day weekend would be nice, though!
The phone ringing this morning got us up earlier than we might have gotten up. It was our son, Joey, calling from the Middle East. He has been 'deployed' (civilian Army) there for four months. It was good to hear his voice and catch up with him. They are seven hours ahead of us, so it was mid-afternoon for him when he called. Of course, the phone ringing early in the morning, or late at night, always makes me think the worst - but it was good this time!!
Did a little cleaning, and have the laundry finished. Haven't done much else today, but did make us a nice breakfast and we grilled steak for dinner. If nothing else, we have eaten quite well today!
Sharing the cats' day with you here, (lazy like mine):
Cookie, sleeping in the scratching box.
Lilly sleeping by the pool.
Lucy (was) sleeping by the pool.
Onyx, sleeping on the sofa.
Vinny, sleeping on the cat condo.
Hope your day has been a good one!! Wishing you a great week ahead! Peace, love & hugs.

Your pool is gorgeous! We don't have a nice one like you. Ours is above ground and soon to be gone. Love seeing the pictures of your cats.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you heard from Joey and he is fine. It is very hard to have someone you love "over there". Yesterday was lazy for me but I needed it.
ReplyDeleteDo you swim much in your pool?
Lynda, we don't swim in it much anymore. We used it a lot when we first moved in, and our company always enjoy it. Now it seems like too much trouble....silly excuse!! Wet suit, wet hair, extra towels....
DeleteGlad you heard from your son. That makes any day good!
ReplyDeleteI want to live in your cat house. It seems so relaxing. I understand the adrenaline that hits us with a phone call at night. I must blog about my Canadian Thanksgiving that was such a blessing. Hope I will do that soon.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a nice day. Prayers that your son stays safe. The cats sure had a restful easy Sunday. They all look very comfy. Have a great week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteVinny is a little too big for the kitty condo. If he sleeps too hard, he will fall off!
ReplyDeleteIt's not much of a holiday here, either, expect for the post office and banks. Students will still be in school, and I will be hard at work. We're trying to figure out what we can do for Thanksgiving this year. I want to see family.
Btw, the spiders along the edge of your border are creeping me out. My gaze keeps straying over there, to make sure they are not moving ... lol
A lot of snoring must be going on in your house on lazy Sundays! I don't think anyone enjoys gettting phone calls at those hours either. Saturday was a holiday in Spain and today is a work day. We're looking forward to 1 November off though.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, good food, sleeping fur babies...nothing better!
ReplyDeleteAwwww the kitties look so comfy. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteAnd so happy you had that good call.
Love you,
Sheila
I have Columbus Day off plus tomorrow and the next day and the next. hahahaha Just teasing.
ReplyDeleteI always expect the worse when the phone rings early or late. I'm sure it was good hearing his voice. Prayers for his safety.
Looks like Vinny could have found a more comfortable place to sleep. That's funny.
Have a good day.
Hi Terri, I loved seeing all your precious cats. They look very comfy. God bless your week.
