We've had enough rain!
The day started out sunny and hot. Around 2:00 p.m., the dark clouds rolled in and we have had steady rain all afternoon and evening. Our pool is filling up. I doubt it will spill over, but it is kind of scary to watch it creep up the sides.
I got most of the house cleaned today. Still have the dining room and living room to finish, and the mopping to do, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are done, and the kitchen (except the floor). Oh my, did we have cat hair everywhere! Three weeks of not dusting or vacuuming.... you get the picture. I will have the usual laundry to do tomorrow, too. Had to stop to get cleaned up for church. Then we went out to eat, at Red Lobster - we had a gift card to use, and a coupon. Since it was still raining, we decided to forget about stopping at the grocery. Nothing critical on the list that can't wait for better weather.
Vinny is under the daybed in the back bedroom/Joe's office. We moved his litter box and food in there, so I could clean the guest room good. He came out to eat, but has gone back under. Tomorrow, we will try to bring him out in the living room again, and give him more attention. Hard to love on him when he is under the bed. We have held him enough to know his incision is fine, and he seems fine - just still fearful. Lots for him to get used to....being in a house for the first time, four new cats to socialize with , and two new people to learn about. He will be fine, in time.
My knees are feeling pretty good. Still some pain from the bursitis, but the joints feel good. I need to keep stretching the hamstrings and I need to get out and walk now!! I skipped WW, because I have only taken off three of the six pounds I gained over vacation. Have to make myself go next Saturday, though, and get back in the habit of collecting my stickers.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are having a good weekend! Peace, love & hugs.

We are seeing progress with our new cat. It's been a few weeks now and it makes us happy to see him relax. Won't be long til Vinny is just fine.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
Glad your knees are doing well. I hope the kitty will do well. sandie
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying our rain. Don't think we had any today, but the past few days have had rain and thunder and flood watches and so forth. Floods don't touch the area where I live, so no dangers there. I'm just so happy not to be in a drought! And most times, the rain brings cooler air. I just don't enjoy all the 80s weather. I miss spring!
ReplyDeleteOh, dear Vinny, please come out from under the bed. You are safe now. Enjoy the adventure of living in a house with the rest of the crew!
Lots of rain here too. Our side yard looks like a lake. Poor Vinny. Hopefully he comes out soon.
ReplyDeleteNow we know why we used to call others scaredy cats as children. I know some people don't believe in animal intelligence or that they have personalities, but I can't wait to find out about Vinny's personality. My mom's tabby sure was clever and had the memory of an elephant. Sometimes, two of my nephews would torment him and it wouldn't do a thing to them, that is until he caught them asleep and then he'd pounce. He got his revenge. Hope you're having a good Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are about to get caught up in the housework. Vinny will venture out when he feels safe and get more loving than he has known. Also good to hear your knees are better too. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're busy getting back to life's regular routine. I hope Vinny is able to make himself at home soon.
ReplyDeleteWhew - - you are wearing me out just reading about what you are doing at home!!! It is amazing how much cat hair can accumulate in a little bit of time. We are down to two cats and no dogs and I am still astounded at how much we vacuum up.
ReplyDeleteLate getting here again. Sorry. We have rain here today but that's ok, we need it. I've watched the reports of the storm in the Gulf and the path of the outer rain. Yep... it's in your area. Just hoping you don't have bad flooding.
ReplyDeleteI love Red Lobster. The food is so good and I love their Cheddar Bay biscuits.
It's good to hear that your knees are feeling better.
