Coffee, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate....
We have had a Bunn coffee maker for years and years. I think we are on our third since we were married 28 years ago. I really like the Bunn coffee maker, which makes a whole pot in about four minutes.
Then, we went on our road trip last month, and found that my sister (who is not a coffee drinker) had a Keurig Coffee Maker in her kitchen - because she got hooked on the tea and hot chocolate (and flavored coffee) in the teachers' lounge at the school where she teaches.
My experience with a Keurig machine was that it only brewed a teeny tiny cup of coffee...something like five ounces. Patti's machine has buttons for three different sizes - small, medium, and large! Whoohoo! Joe LOVED it, too.
When we got home from our trip, he looked on Amazon, and found that this model costs $153.00. A little too much. THEN, we saw them at Sam's Club, just like Patti's, for a LOT less than that. Needless to say, he picked it up and put it in our basket. Of course, then we had to buy the K-cups for it, and now have several kinds of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
I still use the Bunn maker to fill my thermos in the morning, to take to work, but we are really enjoying the tea, decaf coffee, and hot chocolate, in the evenings. I have no counter space in my kitchen, but there are two coffee makers sitting there, side-by-side, now.
That's my story for today. I can highly recommend both the Bunn and the Keurig coffee makers. It is nice to have coffee, almost instantly, from either one. What kind of coffee maker do you have? I know there are lots of good ones out there.
Hope you have had a good day. Thanks for checking in, and I wish you a good Thursday! Peace, love & hugs.

I have been going back and forth about getting the Keurig as I am the coffee drinker, but probably will just stick to my Mr. Coffee. The individuals are a little expensive vs. a lb. of coffee and I just make my 4 cups at a time and am done. Those that have the Keurig tho, do like it and I know you will too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee drinker but my hubby likes a cup a day. We have a Keurig that he loves. Works perfect for us, because we don't need a whole pot!
ReplyDeleteI really like the smell of fresh ground coffee but do not like the taste of it or tea. My husband doesn't generally drink coffee at home but will drink a cup or two at work. He doesn't take time before leaving to sip. However, that might change when he retires - - a few more years down the road. And maybe he may get to a point he wants some at home - - but even when my sister is here and makes some, he doesn't drink it - - so we only have her small drip coffee maker that she uses when she visits a couple times a year.
ReplyDeleteI would love a coffee maker that made my coffee in 4 minutes! Mine takes quite a bit longer, but I grind coffee just before going to bed (I know that would kill the purists out there) and then first thing when I get up, I push that button, take the dog out, and when I'm back in the house the coffee is nearly ready. Works for me. Enjoy your new toy. Sounds like fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are on our second Keurig Coffee machine - over 5 years. I LOVE IT! Just love it! Good for you. sandie
ReplyDeleteI have a coffeemaker similar to the Keurig machine you have, but I love my coffee and prefer the Italian coffeepots, which you put on the stove. Love the smell of freshly-made coffee. BTW, my machine uses normal ground coffee unlike the Nespresso types and makes beautiful creamed coffee, but still I prefer the kind that steeps the coffee and takes longer than a few seconds to make.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I have one of those espresso coffee makers that goes on the stove, but I haven't used it in years. I should probably drag it out for some espresso....though the Keurig K-Cups have espresso! Much easier, but probably not quite as good.
DeleteSounds wonderful! We have a Sunbeam...nothing special, it just makes coffee and that's just fine with me.
ReplyDeleteIt think coffe is coffee....as long as there is a way to have coffee in the morning, life is good!
ReplyDeleteThis may be hard to believe, but I just checked it out with the hubby to make sure my math was right. We're on our 2nd Bunn coffee maker. We bought our first one when we lived in Middle Point because the water was awful and destroyed all the cheaper ones. That was in approx. 1988. When we moved here in 1993, it came with us and lasted another 6 years. We bought another Bunn. This one is 14 years old!! And brews like it did the first day.
ReplyDeleteWe're both coffee drinkers. Winter days hubby and I will drink 2 pots a day. When our kids come over, we can go through 4 pots of coffee. I love my Bunn!
We only bought the latest Bunn because we wanted the one with the thermal carafe. Love it!
DeleteI don't drink coffee, but while in Florida at my daughters she made me hot chocolate from their Keurig...it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee either but I do love tea + hot chocolate. Glad you are enjoying your new coffee maker
ReplyDeleteI know I would love them both!
