Back to work....
My first day back at work, after vacation, started with a staff retreat. It was a good retreat, but I would rather have used the time to catch up on my work. Spent the afternoon doing just that...and will spend the next three or four days catching up. I'll get there, but good golly it's never easy after being gone for a length of time.
Our new cat, Vinny, is staying under the bed in the guest room. We are pleased that he is eating his food, drinking lots of water, and is using the litter box like a pro! This is an 8-month old kitten who has never been inside a house before. We got him out and he did stay on my lap and let me pet him - for about two minutes tonight. It will be a chore getting him in his carrier for tomorrow's visit to the vet. This is a totally different situation than we've ever had before. Our other cats had at least been introduced to being inside. I hope he will begin to feel at home soon.
Joe is busy, busy, too.
That's all I have for tonight! Thanks for checking in with me! Peace, love & hugs!!

Glad your first day went well, but I can see why you would want to do a little catching up.
ReplyDeleteHope that vet trip goes well!
Thanks. I will keep you posted about Vinny's surgery.
DeleteIt is always hard getting back into the old routine after a vacation, but knowing you, it wont be long til you have it all in order...you are so organized. Vinny will be giving you kitty kisses in no time.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to those kitty kisses! He sat on my lap for (maybe) two minutes tonight. Lots of changes in his life!
DeleteGlad you got home safe and I can't believe that you are back to work. And my deep apology for what that gal did who I introduced you too. I don't understand it and I didn't expect it. I was shocked. She is going to miss a great gal. I am so sorry. Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Sandie! She has her reasons for not wanting to follow another blog, and I am not offended. Thanks for connecting us, and for your friendship! No apology necessary, for goodness sake! Love & hugs!!
DeleteAlways seems to take forever to get caught up after vacations but always worth it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Vinnie will settle in soon. Can't wait to see pics :)
Kim, I'm looking forward to being able to take some photos of our new baby!
DeleteBest wishes with Vinny. It just takes time for kitty to feel safe. Glad you had a safe trip.
ReplyDeleteOur home that we just moved from was 5 minutes from Sandie, although we never met in person. She often blogs about luncheons with her GA blog friends, but I was never invited. No problem as my hubby is disabled and I very seldom leave him.
Don't work too hard catching up. It will wait!
I'm sorry you never got to meet Sandie. She is genuine and gracious. I'm glad I got to meet her. Thanks for the good wishes for Vinny. He is at the Vet this morning, for shots and neutering. I'll feel better introducing him to the other cats after we know he is healthy.
DeleteI think you may already have a photo of Vinny on your page, i.e. the kitty on top of the hugs sign. Vinny is a yellow tabby, isn't he? Hope he adjusts soon, but he doesn't sound too unhappy.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, you are right! That does look a bit like our new Vinny! :)
DeleteBy the way, I said hello to Cincinnati for you, as we passed through on our way home last week. There are photos on my phone that I forgot to post for you as we were speeding through on I-75.
Glad you're back. I missed reading your blogs every morning. I'm sure Vinny will warm up to his new surroundings soon. I took in a stray cat, an adult, several years ago. He didn't like being indoors at first and would hide behind the couch. Then he would start watching me and would jump on my lap. He became very comfortable there and it became our nightly routine. Little by little he inspected all the rooms until he decided, this isn't so bad.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good Tuesday.
Thanks for missing me, Carol. I missed reading everyone each day, too. Caught up with most, I think.
DeleteI, too, think our Vinny will warm up soon and feel comfortable. Lucy is my only concern. She can be wicked, and has already growled at him. Lucy and Lillie will hiss and growl, but then will lay side-by-side, so I think Lucy just has an attitude, but is not vicious.
I'm glad you are getting acclimated, but I hate that things have backed up after all of your careful planning before you left.
ReplyDeleteSending you big hugs. Guess where I am? The St. Augustine library. Had to come here to get computer access. Yesterday it was Barnes and Noble.
xoxox,
Sheila
Sheila, you do get around for the WiFi spots! LOL We do what we have to do - right!?
DeleteThere is no one else to do my work, so what is piled up is what came in while I was gone. I'm working through it. Next week, things will be back to normal!
Welcome back. I'm glad you had a good trip.
