Joe still has some swelling from the infected gland, but is feeling 95% good now. When I got home from work, we took off for Sam's Club. I had a prescription to get, and some more things for the dinner party on Saturday night. We went to IHOP for dinner. They have omelets made with egg substitute, with fresh fruit on the side, for only 320 calories! Awesome! Then we went to Party City for some cake decorating supplies. I think I am just about ready. We'll need to go to Publix on Friday for a few more things, and that will be it.

I had a good day at work. I got the 1099s out today, and did the prep work for my W2s, so I can run them tomorrow. I did payroll today, and warned everyone at the staff meeting to be prepared for a 2% decrease in their checks. The cut in the employee portion of the social security tax that Obama put in place when he took office the first time, has been taken back. I won't go into the stupidity of the cut, in the first place, but after having it for four years it is a serious cut in pay. The first of more to come, rich or poor, everyone will feel it.
I had a surprise in the mail tonight! Veronica is the woman who takes care of the feral cat colony and captured our Lilly (and then talked us into taking her!). We were chatting by email last week, and she told me she had just published her second book. Her first book is about her father, who captained movie star, Errol Flynn's yacht, named Zaca. She sent a copy of her first book to me!! How nice is that?! I will enjoy reading it, for sure. It can be found on Amazon: Link Here
Here pen name is Bonnie Cother. What a interesting woman! I'm so glad to have met her, and am enjoying getting to know her better. She is from Australia, and has a lovely accent!
Tomorrow morning, I will have breakfast with our Director of External Affairs, at the Chamber of Commerce's annual Economic Forecast Breakfast. It is always interesting. Tomorrow afternoon is my appointment with my orthopedic doctor, about my knee(s). You know I will keep you posted.
That's about all I have for tonight! Same old, same old. I am looking forward to Saturday! Hope your day was good! Thanks for stopping by. Peace, love & hugs.
Your political cartoon got a chuckle out of me. At this time, I don't want to get started on my own view point concerning our fearless leaders and their new laws. Instead, I'm keeping my mind on the coming of a higher kingdom.

I hope all goes well with your doctor's appointment tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first week back to 'normal' after the holidays. I must say it's gone by rather quickly. I won't say it's gone smoothly, because we're having a horrible, and they're always horrible, homeowners' meeting tonight.
So glad to hear Joe is on the mend, and now we have to get you that way also. Will be praying and just know God is in control. You have your party to look forward to, and it will be so much fun. Looking forward to those pictures. Love you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that Joe is doing so much better. Good luck at your Dr appt.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that Joe is feeling much better. That sounded so painful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteHope the swelling goes away quickly and Joe will be back to 100%. Sounds like you made some real good progress at work. Will be anxious to hear how the visit went with the orthopedic doctor and what the plan is for your knees. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI went to see the orthopedic doctor yesterday. Of course, my knee didn't hurt at all yesterday....but the x-rays did show some problems. He wants me to exercise more (which the other doctor said no to) and see what happens. I was disappointed...and today my knee hurts again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a busy day at work. glad that Joe is nearly better.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner at IHOP sounded great!
