I did not like my alarm clock this morning. During the work week, I get up at 5:00 a.m., and am at work by 7:00. My "official" hours are 8:00-5:00, but I like having an extra hour in the morning, before other people come in. I can check e-mails, finish up projects without interruption, etc. The Museum is a high-security facility. Our maintenance and security folks arrive earlier than me, and we all have to be out of the building by 5:30, so extra time is best done in the morning. I'm a morning person anyway, but sure enjoyed sleeping in until 7:30 or 8:00 while I was off these past couple of weeks.
Calendar year-end brings extra duties. I need to start preparing W2s and 1099s. My accounting software had a payroll update today, for all the January changes. Thank goodness for accounting software!! It is also the end of a quarter - the second quarter of our fiscal year. That requires extra reporting. January is also when we start budgeting for next year, and we have performance reviews in March. I'll be busy.
It was nice having leftovers for dinner tonight. Joe is still sick. He has a fever tonight. I've given him Tylenol. Hope the fever breaks. If not, I'll need to take him to the doctor tomorrow. He has asthma, diabetes and heart disease. We can't play around with fevers!
Hope your week is progressing nicely and I wish you a good Thursday! Peace, love & hugs.
Oh no! Sorry to hear Joe is still sick. Hope he starts feeling better soon
ReplyDeleteI'll bet he hasn't felt like eating much either. Hope he gets better soon and that you don't get ill too.
ReplyDeleteI hope Joe begins to improve quickly.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I am a morning person and always arrive early everywhere I go!
I sure hope Joe is feeling better this morning! I will keep him in my prayers. I'm busy with year-end bookkeeping as well, but I have it easier than you because I just have to get the reports to our accountant and she will be preparing our W2's and 1099's :-) Have a wonderful day, Terri! Let us know how Joe is feeling.
ReplyDeletePraying Joe is better, the fever has dropped and he doesnt have to have a dr. visit. I know, or remember how hard it was to go back to work after a holiday. Hard to get back into routine, especially with all the payroll work you have facing you. I have dr. appt. today and am hoping and praying he can do something to rid me of this pain. It is wearing me down.
ReplyDeleteHope Joe is feeling better. There is a flu going around with fever. It's foggy and about 60 here this morning. Hope your week is going well, I'm swamped with work.
ReplyDeleteHope things go well for you at work and Joe gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteHow is Joe? I hope that he is feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteUp at 5am and at work by 7? I couldn't do your job! Simon goes back to work next Tuesday and I am quite looking forward to getting back into my normal routine.
I am so enjoying being retired. Your blog reminds me of why.
