Ten Thoughts For Tuesday.....

I'm never sure I can come up with 10 specific things (thoughts), but here goes.....

1.  It is cold today, for us...66 degrees at 3:00 p.m., and really cold is predicted for tonight!

2.  Thanks for reading my two blogs that took me down memory lane (Saturday and Monday).  It was a good for me!

3.  Today's Board meeting went well.  We have a super group of people supporting us in many ways, and an awesome staff.  It is easy to work at the Museum!  Still glad it is over for another month!

4.  I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight.  I so envy those who can plan a menu for the week ahead.  I wish I could discipline myself to do that.  It's always...."What do you want for dinner?"  "I don't care, what do you want?"  or "What do we have, that we can make for dinner?"  Except there is no "we"....Joe does not cook.  He can make coffee.  The crockpot is the answer, but (again) it takes pre-planning and extra work the evening before to get it ready.  No wonder we eat out more than we should.  It's just easier!

5.  One of our Board members attended today, who has been battling cancer for a second time.  I am so used to seeing her in a wig, that her own gray - and now curly! - hair made me do a double-take!  She looks great, though, and seems to be healthy again!  Praise God.

6.  My car is so dirty, inside and out!  I don't think it has ever gone this long without a trip to the car wash.  I think that needs to be on my list for this weekend.

7.  Our cat, Onyx, is on antibiotics again.  The poor boy gets a head full of nastiness and sneezes out the nastiest stuff.  We are lucky if he lasts 6 weeks between having to have medicine.  We have tried changing food and litter, several times.  The Vet tells us that some cats just have problems like that.  All I can say is that he hasn't always had this problem, it 's just the past couple of years.  Any experience with this?  He HATES getting the liquid antibiotic, and now he runs when we head his way, whether it is medicine time or not.  I just hate that we have to do it to him.  Poor baby.  He is 12 years old.  Maybe it's just 'getting old', like so many of my problems!  (snort!)

8.  I am tired today.  Really didn't want to get out of bed this morning, but had to.  Speaking of getting old.....

9.  It is time for a bone scan, so the letter I received from the clinic says.  Every two years.  I need to call and get it scheduled.  It doesn't hurt, is not uncomfortable - it's just a bother, checking for  osteoporosis.  My uncle died from complications of osteoporosis (not something men usually have to worry about) so I have a family history of osteoporsis.  Getting old.....

10.  I am blessed.  I know I am blessed.  Thank you for staying connected with me here!  I value these friendships!!  I miss some of my old friends, from Multiply.  Linda posted the same thing on Facebook this morning, and I agree!  I had 43 connections there, and heard from 25 or so daily.  I miss those who didn't come to Blogger, but am so thankful for those who did!  I am also thankful for the new friends I've made here.

So, there are my 10 - on to Wednesday!!  Wishing you a good evening!!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. The next meal here, sounds like the same as it is there....what do we have; what do you want; etc. Poor Onyx....maybe this cooler weather doesnt agree with him either. I know we cant make our "old" friends come here, but if they would just give it a chance. I think I had about 25 on Multiply, and heard from most of them daily or at least every other day. Here, I might get a comment from 5 in one day, if I am lucky. I miss the closeness we had. I do appreciate the new friends I have made here tho, and maybe in time, we will feel the same. You are wise to have the bone scans....you never know, and as you mentioned, they dont hurt, they just take our time....better safe than sorry for sure. Hugs.

  2. I loved reading these. What a good idea. It just gives us a little picture of you and your day. Sorry to hear about the kitty. It's difficult as our pets age, for they can't talk and let us know what's wrong!

I'm trying to feel sorry for you at 66 degrees. It's -4 here right now. lol But I do know how it is. We came through Oklahoma once in January. It was warm. My husband and I were in shirt sleeves, but the people at the gas station where we stopped were all in parkas! It must've been in the low 50s, which would be a heat wave in January in Wisconsin!

Thanks again for this list of thoughts. Fun to read, Terri. :-)

  3. 1. That is cold for Florida! To make you feel better..our high today was only 11 :-)

    2. I only read one! Going back to read the 2nd one!

    3. Yay!!

    4. Walt and I are starting to have the same problem. Matt and Lindsay are rarely home for dinner and sometimes I just don't feel like making a mess in my kitchen for just the two of us.

    5. Aww..that is so great that she doesn't have to wear a wig anymore.

    6. That is how Walt's truck is. After our trip up north it looks like a gray truck instead of a blue truck..LOL.

    7. Awww..Poor Onyx. I wish I had some advice but I never had to deal with that.

    8. LOL..Mornings come way to quick!

    9. Good luck with your scan :-)

10 We are blessed that you decided on joining Blogger! Although, I would have ended up following you were ever you went..LOL. I miss Multiply and the friendships that were there but, like you, I am so blessed to have a new blogging home that I love!

  4. It is very cold here. Minus 8 tonight and lots of snow still around. I hate the cold. Hate getting up in the morning too. I am a night owl.

I plan menus a week in advance and shop accordingly. It is a habit that goes back years to the days when we had 5 children to feed and organisation and budgeting were key to survival! Really.

So glad that you enjoy your job that makes so much difference. Hope you have a good week. I am going to read those other blogs now. I am behind since Jacksons birth.

  5. Brrr really cold here today. 21 but with wind chill it felt like 7. We have a dusting of snow on the ground with more coming on Friday. Yuck I really dislike winter.

I usually decide in the morning what I am making for dinner so the meat can thaw out. I can't plan any further ahead than that lol

  6. It's cold here in Ohio too but I'd gladly take the 60's right now. Our wind chill is minus 6!
I know what you mean about missing our contacts/friends from Multiply. I do appreciate each and every one I have here on blogger, all 3 of you, but it does get lonely.
Bob and I do the same here when it comes to meal time. I've gotten to where I don't even ask him. I just pull something out of the freezer in the morning that sounds good to me. When I was working, I hated coming home to face the stove and not wanting to cook.

  7. sigh...I envy your temperatures...we woke up to minus 10 C. which equals about 14 F. Sometimes I think we should stop all the medical intervention for ourselves and our animals and just let God do what needs to be done. Then I wake up the next day with a little more energy and ready to try to probem solve again. We are both very human aren't we?

  8. I'm reading this on Wednesday and wondering what you had for dinner last night. LOL.

Seriously, what great news to hear someone who suffered from cancer looking so good. I hope she continues to be healthy. I miss some of my multiply friends too. Thank goodness for facebook though. I never thought I'd say that.

    1. Brenda, we had some stir-fry veggies, with some leftover beef I had in the freezer, and brown rice. It was good.
