Today is payday, so that's a good thing that happened today (except my check was 2% less than last pay!).
My morning started with two cats fighting, and then FOUR cat throw-ups. They eat too fast, to keep the food from the others, then they just throw it up. Pardon the visuals, but that's how my morning started. There are enough cat bowls in different places. It isn't usually like this, so I don't know what their problem was this morning. Geesh.
At work, I've been working on investment statements all day today, trying to finish up so I can write the December financial reports. Perhaps I'll finish tomorrow. It's been one thing after another! One account has a deposit in it that I don't believe belongs to us. I've been working with the investment manager to figure it out. Now she tells me the trace will take up to two weeks! Good grief. I think this money belongs to someone else....you would think they would miss a nice tidy sum ($6,000+). The only other thing it could be is a gift from someone, but we usually get a heads-up when that happens. Then, two account statements from the same place hadn't arrived yet, so I asked them to fax them over. They sent the wrong ones, so I had to go through it again. Sigh. It isn't usually this difficult to get the statements reconciled.
I am hungry today. My diet is causing my stomach to growl. I'm not complaining, just making a statement. It means it is working. You are supposed to be hungry before a meal. I'm looking forward to some leftover meatballs and pasta for dinner!! I guess this all sounds like grumbling. I'm sorry. It is what it is today! LOL Not much else to write about or report. Hard to believe January is nearly half over already!
Wishing you a good evening and week ahead! Peace, love & hugs!

Oh Terri, I think that extra 6000K actually came from my account, so feel free to send it to me. lol
ReplyDeleteI know so well the joys of kitties. This time I just waited until the throw-up dried up, then vacuumed it up. It does get a little annoying at times, but I wouldn't give them up for anything (cats, that is). Have a good evening♥
LOL Judy! I thought maybe it was really mine....but, alas, I don't have an account there so couldn't claim it. Darn! Yes, we do love the kitties, throw-up and all.
DeleteI don't miss the hairballs and messes. My work is a little slower, no less frustrating. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteLyn, God bless you for doing the work you do. My friend, Linda, who posted below, is a retired nurse. You two could talk, I'm sure!
DeleteYour work day sounds like one I used to have now and then, and they are just no fun, and in addition, ups the frustration. Hope it all is solved and soon for you. Cats, we love them --- most of the time...lol Just when I think Cali is on an even keel, she will come up with something entirely different and drives me nuts!
ReplyDeleteLinda, we have two (Onyx & Lucy) who have decided they don't like each other at all, and the fur really does fly when they go at it. Scary stuff! Hope they figure it out.
DeleteUgh I remember mornings like that when we had cats. lol Hope tomorrow is better for ya!
ReplyDeleteI really hate any kind of paperwork. My sister in law loves it and my youngest son is an accountant. My father was an accountant. I missed the $ paperwork gene. I send everything about taxes to #2 son and pay him back with babysitting. He thinks it is a good deal. I babysit for 2 days and he does my taxes for a half hour. Getting rid of the stress makes it make sense to me. I would need valium to do your job. I am impressed with how you handle the stress of it all. Go girl go.
ReplyDeleteKaryn, I am happy my husband is a CPA. I don't have to do the taxes, and working for a non-profit, I don't have to do taxes there either. Accounting is just arithmetic, so I don't find it hard to do. Figuring out taxes would be a lot more difficult!
DeleteJust like kids, aren't they? When I used to look after my friend's dog, Zara would be all jealous.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago, one of my friends discovered money in her account that she hadn't deposited. Thank goodness for honest people. I know I'd miss that much money! Hope your Tuesday is better than your Monday.
I'm counting on a better Tuesday, Brenda! Thanks!
DeleteYay hurray for pay day and I'm a little weird because in my life as it is although I like having my husband around Monday is also a good day. Weekends have been crazy here and Monday I can take it slower and the house is quiet, been having gkids every weekend for awhile. (I love them too but oh my gosh I love my quiet restoration periods lol. Well today is Tuesday but I'm late here. Oh we have Florda sunshine today but northern temps brr. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteCheryl, have all the puppies found a forever home? I can't imagine grandkids AND puppies! You have your hands full!
DeleteI always hated it when the financial statements went wrong. Twice as much work and brain power to get it straightened out. It's exhausting.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week.
Oh Terri I can totally sympathize with you and the kind of day you were having at work!
ReplyDeleteI hope today was better! I love your Valentine's Day background!
