Wednesday Evening....

It was a busy day at work.  Happy to see the clock tick toward 5:00!

Joe and I are supposed to be going to Bone Fish Grill for dinner tonight.  We have a gift card, and Wednesday is the night our favorite Bang Bang Shrimp is only $5.00!  I got home, however, to find him trying to get his tax software to work.  The tech at the company has taken over his computer, and is having trouble with it, too. Now they are getting a manager to help.  I have a feeling we will have to put off dinner out tonight.  Such is life.  The tax package is more important right now!

I asked you all to pray for my friend and co-worker, Gregory, a couple of weeks ago.  He is doing great, and plans to come back to work on Monday, for half a day.  Prayers do work!  His parents have been here with him, since Gregory is a bachelor.  They live in North Carolina.  His dad is a retired Methodist minister.  We invited them all to dinner on Saturday night, before his folks head north.  They planned to stay until Gregory could get back to work.  We have met them several times before, and Gregory visits us often and shares some of the holidays with us, when he doesn't go north.  It will be fun having them. Gregory's diet is somewhat restricted, but pasta is one of the things he can have!  I can do pasta! (He had part of his small intestine removed because of diverticulitis.)

That's about all I have to share today/tonight.  It is cold here in Central Florida.  We have a cold front sitting over us and it will be here for a few days, as I understand the weather maps.  I don't mind cooler, but I can do without cold!  We don't have gloves and winter coats any more! If a jacket won't keep me warm, it is too cold for me!  We had to turn the furnace on last night.   I know some of you are snickering, because you are below zero.  It's all relative, however!

Wishing you a good evening, as I contemplate dinner in, or maybe dinner out!  Peace, love & hugs!!

  1. Night is when I have to turn off the heating. Of course, I sleep under what's called a continental quilt - don't know what you call it, but it's what people in Nordic countries use. Yesterday morning I had to be out in the street with the rain and snow, so when I got home I put on my plush PJ's until time for class. Hope it warms up for you, and am glad your friend is doing well.

  2. So pleased to hear that your friend has made a good recovery. Hope that you did get to go out for your dinner. What on earth is bang, bang shrimp? I love all seafood so I guess I would like it.

    1. Jilly, it is a shrimp appetizer that is lightly breaded and fried, then coated in a very spicy sauce. It comes on a bed of lettuce and you eat it with chopsticks. It is SO good, with a spicy edge to it...thus the 'bang bang'.

    1. Kim, he finally gave up and will try again tomorrow. The "customer service" folks are giving very good service. Thanks for the good wishes!

  6. Snicker... snicker. (just teasing you) Yes, you know we are cold here. It did get up to 15° today.
What wonderful news about your friend. God does hear our prayers. That's nice that you are having them over for dinner.
Hope Joe gets his software up and running. Tax time is almost here and it might be crazy for him this year with all the new rules, regulations and taxes.
    Have a good night.

  8. Hi Terri...Pasta works for me! Glad your friend is doing better. I hope the Tax software gets up and running. It must be a mess because everything was so rushed with the tax mess at the last minute.
